I am just really confused. Again I don't understand why they picked this one as the first single. You would except the first song to be one that gives people an aha-erlebnis And with this I am not saying it has to be a copy of previous stuff, just something recognisable. |
Yeah I am with you on that one! _________________ "Here it is...there is no way to make it better " |

I think they did that with White Knuckle Ride. And the general consensus has been pretty positive, judging from what I've read in non-jamiroquai sites, and reactions in general (youtube, the responses on the interview with Jay, sites promoting the album).
I think I understand why WKR is a ...pre-single. |

Yes but to me that strategy isn't working. They just follow each other way too quickly. People have barely had the time to pick up on WKR and to realise Jamiroquai is back and BAM there is the next one. And the next one is the opposite, it is a ballad. I mean we, the fans are very aware of WKR but mainstreamwise people haven't had a chance yet. You release a song and it takes a while for people to really pick up on it. And once that happened, you release the next one to keep the flow going.
All in all, I feel that they are not maximising the potential of WKR and are endangering the potential success of BS. |

Does anyone know when each single will appear (on radio, tv,..)? I really hope they start off with WKR, cause blue skies probably won't give a big impression imo. |

Hate to say it guys, but we got some drama queens here...
As Diego pointed out...11 tracks to go. Cool your jets. It's funny to hear people falling in line with the reviled WKR after hearing this BS track. |

What i want to say this is beautiful song. For me Jamiroquai has always been doing very sunny music, like Beatles but in their own way..
I think many people around the world will be thankful for this track, it is very good, kind, peaceful music. Sounds very close to Jimi Hendrix writing style.
of course arrangement is not Jimi's, but Jimi could have written this kind of tune.
Also theres a place in the end of the song when Jay sings like Marvin Gaye
in What's Going On.
For me it is close to Black Crow in a way (i love Black Crow very much). i suppose maybe Rob and Jay have written it together. |

My instinct made me read it as Bull Shit track. I think we need a new abbreviation for it. It aint that bad! |

bloody silly
you can't possibly lead a new album with that single though?
it should be the conclusion i would of thought?
the lyrics are very ironic too, about making mistakes. _________________

Hmmmm well...
This song reminds me very slightly of a few ballads that mr. Marvin Gaye used to do in the past, but very, very slightly...
But i saw somewhere a description about Blue Skies, saying that it was more like a californian summer-esque tune... Who said that was on crack.
Personally i didn't like the song, but i noted the band (Jay's) inttention to explore some new stuff, Jay always with a great voice BUT, HIS voice is not the kind of voice for type of music, it seems a bit outplaced.
But i do agree with Meike in some aspects, the bassline is very warm, is not brilliant, but is nice.
I liked the strings, but they're too cliché in my opinion.
And the backing vocals in this tune were disposable at last...
* Do you know when you think about something and you're sure they could do it much better but still they don't? It's the feeling i got about this tune. Is not a bad tune at all, just hell boring.
Indeed it's a shocking departure, successful? I don't know to say, but it feels like Iron Maiden playing songs of Madonna... You know when it's just not supposed to be there... really...
Anyways i still wait for their album release, i have faith they will have better things to show off, as you know... Hope is the last one standing! _________________ At the speed of cheeba, you and I go deeper... |

BAND WANTED - Jamiroquai
CRIME - trying something a bit different to what they have done in the past!
I love the track personally... _________________ 'This is the world he wants, pray for the brave and the young...' |

i dig it, some refreshment to me of the AFO era, reminds me of black crow when i played it first, yet again, i like it, every song of JMQ it's lyrics always reflected parts of my life,& they still do it!
ok, as a first single it's strange to do, but i guess White Knuckle Ride made the intro for the new album _________________
