What a beautiful song, it made me feel very wistful and nostalgic; the lyrics really spoke to my core. I love the sound of Jay's voice; And the music...I can't wait to hear this one played live. I know I'll be singing along to this one for a long time.

No offense, but man, most of you guys are nasty today! I like to think I try to stay out of the 'old vs. new' debate, but for some reason, I'm compelled to speak up.
Yeah, it's not the return of the funk but come on! This is a nice little piece of work on its own merits. Call it the cousin of Seven Days and Black Crow...I'm expecting this to be a grower. _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. Aren't the best albums the albums which have to grow on you?
What I am hoping:
- Jamiroquai want to reach a wider public with this song as first single.
- Besides they are releasing a typical Jamiroquai song (WKR) for radio airplay.
So there will be more funky tracks left on the album. The fans will buy the album anyway |

I don't think the criticism has anything to do with the old-new debate. When your favourite band brings out a new single in 5 years, you want it to be awesome, impressive. So when your friends see it on tv or hear it on the radio, they can finally see what a great band you've been supporting. And this song, okay it's "nice", but can't we expect just a little bit more slammin' than this? After seeing them live this summer, I know they can do better and more creative tracks than this. |

It reminds me more of Falling than Black Crow. I think Falling is better though. And I don't understand why they are releasing this as first single. Is that part of the 'new' and different marketing strategy?
I'm a little bit afraid for the new album. Three songs heard until now and no overwhelming new track. And Jay said the album will be more rock than funk is making me even more nervous (not in a good way). |

Hi guys,
I know I'm not present at all on the forum but this time I feel like I HAVE to say my opinion.
I remember Jay screaming out loud with that great voice he's got :" BACK TO THE OLD SCHOOL" ( jazz cafè? scala? doesn't matter) and I've seen so many interviews of him complaining 'cause with Sony he was not free of doing what he wanted to but was forced to do...mmm 3 and a half minute..paps? is that?
I on first person know that we all evolve, in my 20 I was screaming around I would have never been a mother, now I wish I had a football team of little kids by example, but one thing is to evolve saying :" people, like it or not this is what we are now" another pair of hand is making people who obviusly have being wait for 5 years ( thoose who are paying your fliying lessons by the way, so that u can enjoy the blue sky ) believe that you are not acting as your wish and that your and them wish are equals, 'CAUSE OBVIUSLY IS NOT! at least this time we cannot believe is the record company.
I'm not criticising the work they've done so far with this new album, I personally prefer other stuff, what I'm criticising is that I feel a bit ....fuoled ( do u say that? like joked!). Never in my mind passed the idea of a new EOPE NEVER, really, but....if I wanna listen to Robbie Williams at least I know what I get as well if I wanna listen to Jamiroquai I WANNA KNOW WHAT I GET. Then no I don't like BS, nither RDLS ....mmmm some of WKR but not enthusiastic, is taste, I will do my best to see them live anyway 'cause they ARE a great band, all this tracks are played and singed wonderfully just not my taste....in the end...I've found out Jason Mraz in this 5 years and I feel lucky, I know what I get.
And YES I will keep on supporting them 'cause they have and hopefully will give me wonderfull moment and in a way are part of my life but is like supporting friends even when you think they's mistaking. _________________ No man is an Island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the Continent, a part of the main and any man's death diminishes me, because

You know, the more I think back to Jay's declaration of "Back to the old school!" at the Jazz Cafe, the more I wonder if folks simply took the statement at face value.
Maybe, by 'old school,' he didn't just mean funk, acid jazz and a legit brass section. Maybe he meant a past sense of exploration and experimentation that he used in Jamiroquai's early work, a sense that got smothered as Sony beat on him and the band for radio-ready hits over the years.
Based on that theory, should we be surprised that he's throwing us a curveball with Blue Skies? _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. I've listened to it twice...
STRANGE! isn't it?
I won't say too much about it, cause I don't want to generate some kind of preconception on those who haven't heard it yet... |

Come on guys, lets be realistic, this may be a good track FOR OTHER BAND, but when you think is Jamiroquai we are talking about, I mean, listen When you gonna learn and right after that this track, there's no fucking way!
I think I'm going to throw up. I dont know, is the very first time I feel dissapointed with the band. it sucks |

after a couple of listens i actually like it and looking forward to RDLS
it has this old-school classic vibe to it, i don't mean JMQ's music but i mean like something u would hear from the 1960s
i think its a mellow song
i could see the connection with WKR because both have the same theme on jay's personal experience and it makes sense why there would be two videos combined since it will be like a short film (i hope)
also, i think anyone could relate to this song..whether is going through a hard time in life, moving on after a bad breakup or etc... _________________ I think it’s time to find a new religion |

this song is no where near as good as butterfly. butterfly and falling are both classics which can't even compare to this rubbish song. |

i totally agree Vere.
lots of empty promises - he knew what he was saying with 'back to the old school' or was it sarcasm
he said he doesn't like 3 minute pap & stuff that is wet? More often than not he just speaks what comes into his mind at the time i think. _________________
