Support JMQ in USA: vote for WKR at Radio Creme Brulee
Hello Jamily,
just got a nice message from an American radio braodcaster. He is supporting Jamiroquai at his radio station and needs your help! Please vote for "White Knuckle Ride" on the website of Radio Creme Brulee:
http://www.radiocremebrulee.com
... and read his message below.
I invited him to join the jamily... let's see if he does.

As the subject of this message suggests, I am an internet music radio broadcaster from Boston (USA). I manage "Radio Creme Brulee" (http://www.radiocremebrulee.com) - an internet music radio station that showcases current pop/rock music from both sides of the Atlantic alongside guilty pleasures, forgotten gems, and radio hits from the 80s, 90s, and 00s.
The reason I am contacting you is because Jamiroquai's "White Knuckle Ride" has been on high rotation for (4-5 plays a day) about two weeks or so on this station. It is unfortunate that in America, Jamiroquai does not have the star power they have internationally. I have to admit to not being a fan in the early 90s but my tastes evolved and now I am quite obsessed with their music. I know American Jamiroquai fans always feel like they get the short end of the stick since we don't get much Jamiroquai promotion here. Hence, I figured it would be nice for them to know that there are stations that care about showcasing Jamiroquai material (and we do that a lot!) despite being a traditional "pop" station.
The link to our website is:
http://www.radiocremebrulee.com
More importantly, I need fans to vote for the track by clicking on the "thumbs up' icon on the radio player when the song comes on. I cannot stress how important this is. Please ask fans (especially Americans) on this forum to do this. I have done my part in using my radio station to support Jamiroquai. Now, I need other Jamiroquai fans to help me support the band in America.
I would have made this post myself on the forum but I did not want to appear like a spammer trying to promote this radio station since that is absolutely not my intention.

As far as understood, you have to click on "thumbs up" when the song is playing on the radio.
Would be helpful if we get to know the times, when they are playing the song... |

Hey....As per CosmicMouse's suggestion, I have joined for the forum. And that radio station is something I manage. As far as doing with other artists...the answer to your question is "yes"...but ONLY if those artists meet the following criteria:
a. Artists for whom we feature a LOT of their catalog on the station.
b. Artists I genuinely like - regardless of whether I ran a radio station or not.
c. The artists are NON-American but have large American fanbases.
Right now, the only artists that have met this criteria and hence have me posting on forums are - a-ha, george michael, robbie williams, and keane.
Hope this answers your question!
Cheers,

It's weird since Jamiroquai has sold more than 4 million albums in US alone...
I'd say they also met that last criteria _________________ At the speed of cheeba, you and I go deeper... |

Hey, the playlist gets queued up for the entire day and it's never very easy to figure out precisely when a new playlist gets launched. I can give it a shot for today since I just manually launched a playlist. These are just rough estimates of when "White Knuckle Ride" will play:
12:30 p.m. US Eastern time
7:40 p.m. US Eastern Time
12:40 a.m (Monday) US Eastern Time
6:40 a.m. (Monday) US Eastern Time
Not sure how helpful this is!

Hey Rita,
I manage the station. So far, I don't think anyone has voted for it. I am actually pulling voting metrics right now and while in general, people tend to vote on song like "Space cowboy", "butterfly", "alright" etc, no one seems to have voted for "White Knuckle Ride". This week, in general hasn't been a high-voting period for new tracks but has been great for older tracks (which we monitor on a separate chart). The song itself gets about 4-5 plays a day and in an ideal world, we'd like people to vote for the song when they hear it by surprise as opposed to looking out for it.
I truly believe the best measure of a song is the extent to which it connects with the "non-fan" or the casual fan. I find the "surprise" factor critical to my appreciation of a track. I haven't really tried pushing the station on this forum because I don't really know what else Jamiroquai listeners like listening to. I mean, I love Jamiroquai and their music is so dramatically different from anything else I listen to or feature on my radio station so it's tough to gauge what else people on this forum might like. If I had the sense that our intersection of music tastes extends far beyond Jamiroquai, I'd shamelessly promote the station on this forum.
