Well someone from funkin.com recommended this vid in the comments, recently:

I think I have to recommend Jimi Tenor to you all. If you haven't heard his work yet you really need to. It's a bit hard to define his style, maybe a bit of Lalo Schifrin-esque stuff.

Anyway, I'd say it's an eclectic mix of funk/soul/jazz/latin/fusion/afrobeat and some experimental electro weirdness. I think a lot of people here will like it.

I recommend you to listen to songs such as 'Grind!', 'Hermetic Man', 'Global Party', 'Hot Baby', 'Me I Say Yes', 'Green Grass', 'Barcelona Sunrise' and 'Paradise Can Wait'.

I think you'd be able to hear most of the above mentioned songs in the whole or snippets of the songs in question at his site (jimitenor.com), on MySpace, YouTube and iTunes.

The collaboration between Jimi Tenor and the afrobeat drummer Tony Allen should be of interest as well. Check out the microsite at: www.inspiration-information-4.com

I don't think JD73 has been mentioned here before. Those who are into Morcheeba are most likely already acquainted with the good ol' Jazz Doctor. He (Dan Goldman) has also worked with Rob, Derrick, Paul and Hazel performing live as The Decoys in Cambridge during 2007.

Those into Rhodes, Clavinet, Moogs and other analogue goodies will probably appreciate the work of JD73.

Google him! Smile
