Haha, Jeroen, that's funny! I am just sitting in front of the computer, headphones on, a piece of paper on the table with the short forms of the songs.. and a pen in the hand, writing down ratings...
Will post mine soon!!

My ratings... difficult, after those short snippets.. and maybe my ratings represent also my hope or expectation for the whole songs...
RDLS 9/10
WKR 8/10
SaM 9/10
AGITH 9/10
H 7/10
BS 7/10
L 8/10
SAFP 9/10
TCDT 10/10
GTMD 8/10
NGBA 10/10
HF 10/10
AGITH (AV) 8/10
A 9/10
HIO 10/10
What I haven't noticed before, but now with headphones: I really dig "Never Gonna Be Another" - those Rhodes!!! And Jay's smooth voice... ...lovely!!
And "Two Completely Different Things" gives me goosebumps!!!
First I wasn't sure about Angeline... meanwhile I find it really interesting... I wonder how the whole song will develop! |

Y'all are getting carried away with those ratings . Some songs sounding less catchy in those 30 snippets will maybe have a crazy break in the middle of the song, and the song sounding really cool now, will maybe not be that cool in full.
Except for she's a fast persuader, I already know that song can't go wrong |

Thanks for uploading the songs, Zsoma! I appreciate it
My favourite ones so far are All good in the hood, Smoke and Mirrors, She's a fast persuader and Goodbye to my dancer
Both Lifeline and 'two completely different things' sound a bit average-tedious to me, but let's wait until 1 November to conclude a final opinion
Thanks again for the links! |

Hello,
Eh eh eh, leave a little room for Ol' JamiroFan to air is 'instant happiness' about being to hear these 'important' RDLS snippets . Hmmm....all I can say is....wow.....jawdroppingly good....I think we need to send the band a 'I'm Sorry For Speculating RDLS Into The Ground' greeting card.......everything on this new album is simply 'Man, I AM FLOORED!' goodness abounding ! Cheers for the download links and ROLL ON NOVEMBER 2010 !
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________

Only track I seem to really like is "she is a fast persuader". Because it seems to bring back the "galactic sound" jamiroquai lost a long time ago.
The rest of the album ... well, to be honest I don´t know what to say. After hearing WKR and BS I was expecting something worse, but this ain´t nothing fantastic as well, even though it seems to be miles away from the mainstream crap out there.
I´d say it seems to be a good album for people who stay on the main scene, but definitely not an album for vibe seekers like jazz funksters or acid jazz people, because it seems very poor in stuff like syths, groovy bass lines and progressive fender rhodes.
Concluding: Good pop album. But that´s all I guess ...
P.S: I think "Two completely different things" sounds good as well, something influenced by marvin gaye, or 80´s romantic "love boat" mood.
But still .. I remain very very disapointed with this return. It were 5 years waiting on the new album hoping sony´s departure would bring something extraordinary ..
But I am happy for those enjoying it! |

Glad to know the entire project isn’t a bust in spite of the worst material being offered up first (exception made for RDLS). The album cover and the music video clips being devoid of substance except of the magic beans persuasion – if you the audience believes in Tinker Bell kind of thing.
RDLS 10/10 – I love you
Lifeline 7/10 – J’s being cute here
She’s a Fast Persuader 9/10 – One point off for being about fellatio! Obviously anyone of us – gay boys / straight girls can become one of those!
Two Completely Different Things 7/10
Goodbye to my Dancer 8/10
Never Gonna Be Another 7/10
Hey Floyd 7/10
That’s a better average than Dynamite which only has 3 to 4 songs I listen to repeatedly. |

As people have mentioned a wider range of sounds, styles and tempo of tunes. Sounds great. Hey Floyd sounds phenomenal, that piano is a killer. She's a fast persuader is another killer. LOVE IT! |

Hello again,
Well, Brother Vintage, I respect your opinion, but for me, 'Rock Dust Light Star' is most definitely shaping up to be a 'great beginning' first new album for their Universal Music contract . Nearly every song has at least one audible aspect of previous Jamiroquai material, but done not as a 'plastic facsimile', but purely in a careful and respective manner than pretty much both main veins of Jamiroquai fans, old and new, can at least find something to latch onto as a favorite song. Now, those whose hopes or fears still seem to be unjustified by what they have beholden, give RDLS at least 2 listens when you have the full album, if you still negate/hate it, then you hate it. As for my favorite tracks of the snippets, quite simply starting from 'She's A Fast Persuader' all the way to 'Hey Floyd' is one of BEST 'blocks of Jamiroquai music' I have heard since probably the 2nd 1/2 of "A Funk Odyssey" . And most importantly, I HONESTLY think RDLS has a GREAT chance of making a return to the U.S. Music charts, the new is rife full of possible hit songs for our mainstream, the last great chance for Jamiroquai in the states was 'Synkronized', this time, mostly definitely they got a SHOT ! Thanks for reading my thoughts and great REVIEWS everyone, been some nice reads...Cheers!
Sincerely,

Hello Jamily
I love it It's big suprise after such non Jamiroquai singles. I can't wait more Good that in Poland 1 November is national holiday and we will have premiere of the album on friday, 29 October. I think it's better to wait with emotions until premiere (WKR also sounded good from clip). I'm going to buy standard version (deluxe will cost twice in Poland but prices are still smaller than in UK) but missing of Angeline and Hang It Over will hurt (I really love clips from them). Jamiroquai is definitely back Absolutely love it See you at concerts where we will be dancing in the rythms of great songs such as She's a Fast Presuader, Hey Floyd, All Good In the Hood and many more great tunes from this album
(sorry for my english, I'm still at school )
Lukasz

Happy to see that someone else noticed this - I have the same feeling about influence of Marvin Gaye when the snippet gets to the meow synth, as if it was off his I Want You album!
