About the whole album vs. individual songs acquisition: I do understand that some albums tell a story that should be tried in its full form, even if you don't enjoy some "chapters" as much as others. For example, the track I like the least in TROTSC is The Kids. Still, I think it is necessary for the album to work as a whole — if you want to listen to it from start to finish, which is not what we always want to do.
There are times, however, when I see no such signs of a coherent narrative. Thus, had I been given the option back then, I would never have bought Supersonic, Twenty-Zero-One, Black Crow, Hot Tequila Brown, Loveblind, World That He Wants, Stop! Don't Panic and would prefer to spend my money on instrumental versions, for example.
I downloaded the album today and if I can buy it track by track, I'm getting only Hang It Over, 2 Completely Different Things and maybe All Good in the Hood.

There's no point in discuss this issue here and now. We are talking about Jamiroquai and their music. The whole thing about internet, piracy and music industry is an issue with 20 years. WTF guys, why are we talking about this now?

if for you, having a material thing in your hands makes the difference, is ok for YOU, don't judge others people decision on when and how to listen.

for me, music is just music, has nothing to do with the device where it's stored.

I'm glad that internet and mp3 exists because they gave me the oportunity for know more artists and music. Buying or not a recording is something personal, I think people who don't buys records woudlnt buy if internet were not there either.

regarding piracy, it's old as the music is, music that can't be copied is music that cant be herd.

i agree with you in every word dude¡¡¡
sorry to quote that much Embarassed

i think universal will take care of the youtube peeps just like they did to the person who posted hurtin..not the horrible version

YOU ARE RIGHT WHEN I HAD PUTTING hurtin the first radio version my youtube and gmail account was blocked for always

This is insane - I posted that version and Universal put a block on that single video which is fair, I wasn't aware that time that the guy had had no permission to air the song. There's no blocking of account or gmail address at all....
Regarding points on downloading the stuff prior to receiving the CD - I don't give a damn sh*t.... In a weeks time it would have been all around the internet just like now, the hardcore fans who didn't lose their faith after hearing the first 4 tracks have already ordered the CD, the others may gonna do so after having heard the tracks now. What you do in your room and how you're listening to the album for the first time I don't give a frickin sh*t again but no one has the right to judge us who downloaded the album (and still have ordered it as well).

The album is available all over the place.
By listening to RDLS, it seems that this has been leaked directly from a studio source. It starts with a "tape rewind sound", to get to the right spot for the recording, than Jay sings RDLS once, and than he says "yeah, ok, thats the one". Than the song starts again. Maybe this is wanted, like the Space Cowboy Demo version, but would they put this version on a new album ???

That beggining part is obviously supposed to be there, it symbolizes they're return to a live sound of music, recording all together in the studio.

The way these things leak is there are thousands of pressed up copies sitting around in boxes waiting to go onto shop floors in a week - so someone liberates a copy, rips it and posts it as a torrent.

It just seems to have been one copy of the regular edition that's got out, nobody's got the deluxe yet - which I'm sure the record company see as a small blessing Smile
