There was one camera on stage, one on the side of the stage, two halfway the venue and one in the back of the venue.
Jay seemed pissed off that he couldn't hear himself properly. The band seemed in a hurry. Not much talking between the songs. So I doubt if the recording will show up somewhere (Jay has to give his permission in the end I think...). |
Have to agree with you; I don't think it'll be used for anything official. It's just gonna be for their own records.

Hey, this is recognizable! A girl in front of me at one point during the show turned towards me smiling and said like 'wow I would almost film you in stead of Jay'! Haha!
I noticed with the new songs most around me didn't know them yet
Rest is all nice and well said Jeroen |

Don' get me wrong guys, I still had a good time. I must confess that I also got wrapped up in the overall hype during the past months, which is certainly a main reason for my low scale rating of the gig. But still, I go as far as saying that this gig left me with the lowest high since '95. I have seen them first time at the Roxy NY, coming on stage at 10:30 pm, Jay high as a kite, and jamming for 3 hours. 15 years later we are looking at a different band in a different setting, granted. I will always be a supporter of the tribe with the vibe, but as a fan, I will also always be their biggest critic. |

It was so amazing but yes way too short and so abruptly stopped! And an album launch?? Not really... missed She's a fast persuader and White knuckelride... played cosmic girl instead?!
But still it was a big party! You won't hear me complain!! To see them in such a great place, Paradiso, so close by is something so very special... Acousic version of RDLS was great! Smoke and mirrows wow! Jay's voice was incredible, and his moves... cant get enough of... Horns amazing... The band was great in all! And they enjoyed theirselves too so much!! So nice to see! It was an unforgettable night! I am still buzzing from it!! THANK YOU!!! Cant wait for the Ahoy gig!!!! _________________ You still blow my mind... |

Hey, lovely jamily!
It was really nice to meet you guys, I had a wonderful night! And I liked the gig in Paradiso!
And with that comment, I was quite suprised when I read the Spits (a free newspaper in the train here in The Netherlands) this morning. There was an interview with Jay (called: My lovelife sucks!), and several pages later, there was a article about the Paradiso gig:
I will translate it tomorrow, for the non-dutchies here |

Thanks Heleen,
The remark that he does not dance anymore non-stop.
And himself saying that he is old....believe he is making excuses for a while now?

Very nice pictures, Winterkat and Ophone! That Dutch article seems to sum up what some of you wrote before: that the show was too short, Jay seemed somewhat confused and the new songs were unknown to the public.
But I trust this will be completely different when they come to Ahoy or Vorst Nationaal... it'd better be!!! _________________ Music is the only hope we have for Revolution. |

Indeed, but I didn't agree on the audience's response.. I didn't seem to me like the crowd was so unhappy about the gig! And the remark 'bout the soccer championships is completely misplaced imo...
And if JMQ plays new songs from an -to be released- album, no wonder the audience couldn't sing along! If they did, the band knows what time it is.. Download time! |

Like they article said, a guy passed by and said that.
And the Journalist wrote it down.
Sure it was short.
Even somebody from the brass section told me, they did not perform everything they wanted to do.
That can refur to songs not performed, or, they did not do all they wanted to do. And yes, that guy was bummed out that they did not do all that they wanted to do.
Leaves it to just 1 conclusion...it was a try out.
So next time it will be even better.
Thanks Jeroen for the 1 hour thing, it explains alot. _________________ May you always feel the wind on your face and the waves on your toes |
