Deluxe edition
I bought the normal edition yesterday in my local Media Store for 14,90€, and they told me they wouldn't get the deluxe edition until the 15th... My original intention was to get the deluxe edition directly, but I was too impatient to do that. Do you think the deluxe edition is really worthwhile buying? |

Angeline and Hang It Over are great in my opinion, so for me it's worth it! |

I prefer Hang It Over than Angeline but this one is cool too... |

Ok. I just hate all this deluxe/noluxe edition crap. I got the same with Dynamite, I only found out months later that there was another edition with Time Won't Wait on it, and ended up buying the album twice for a sense of neatness. What's the point of having an 11-track album + an mp3 of Time Won't Wait?
As I'm just a Jamiroquai fan and not a maniac, I'm not gonna spend the money twice, so I think I'll try to sell my brand new copy of RLDS bought yesterday and buy the deluxe edition. But the whole business sucks big time! _________________ Kiss me on my ego |

Same feeling here. You want to support the band so you pre-oder the album, as soon as you see it's available for pre-order and once you (almost) got it you find out that there is a deluxe edition - really hate that crap. The album should be the same everywhere, no deluxe ed. no bonus tracks just the whole album for everybody and the maybe bring out an extra album with remixes, different versions and so for the 'real' fans |

And if I may add my two cents' worth on the album, it's okay, most tracks are pleasant to the ear, but I ask you: Is this the kind of effort you would expect from the band after 5 years of silence? For me it's a "No". Only one or two tracks, for example "Two Completely Different Things", have that extra songwriting effort put into them, the rest is pleasant, as I said, but with no extra effort. Why is White Knuckle Ride so short? Why does Rock Dust Light Star end so poorly? Why is there so little extra instrumentation on Smoke & Mirrors? And finally, how long does it take (I'm not a musician) to compose and write a track like Hurtin'? A couple of hours? I still love Jamiroquai as a live act, but hey, why the heck aren't they putting the same effort into making the new music which is being dearly paid for by the millions of fans (and double, thanks to the noluxe/deluxe/japluxe edition trick)?

Mmm, 14,90€ for the regular version is quite a lot!
I've spent less than 9£ at Amazon.co.uk for it.
Then I think you underestimate the new album, most songs sound elaborate in comparision with "Dynamite". _________________

9£ = approx. 10.50€. Add shipping expenses to that, and I think you have more or less the same price _________________ Kiss me on my ego |

Not much discussion going on in here eh? It's all about "post a picture of you with the new album", "I like this", "I love that", "where can I find the ultra-deluxe version featuring an extra drum-beat on Smoke & Mirrors" etc.

Yeah I bought the standard version on release day because I was told the physical format of the deluxe version had been delayed here in Australia. I just downloaded the bonus tracks from iTunes where the deluxe version is available but may end up buying the physical deluxe format anyway and giving away the standard version to a friend. |

Hey, that's a good idea. Have you heard when the good one is going to be out here in Oz? I think I heard maybe another week or so. Bit of a marketing scam if you ask me - putting the standard one out for a few weeks and then replacing it with the deluxe... At least the Europeans were given the choice on the day of release! _________________

Haven't heard anything more than just the fact that it had been delayed. I'm just waiting it out now.
Incidentally the new N*E*R*D album was meant to be released over the weekend with standard 10 song tracklist and deluxe 14 track formats available simultaneously. Again I could only find the standard edition available in stores yesterday. Both Jamiroquai and N*E*R*D are distributed I believe through Universal and both have seen the deluxe versions of their new albums delayed here. Surely that can't be simple coincidence?? |
