Keep in mind too for major label releases the producer/engineer/man behind the board in the studio is never the guy who masters the album. The finished tapes are sent to mastering houses where guys who only master albums for a living, master them. That's all they do one after another every genre of music there is. Some specialize in a certain type of music but most do it all.
I don't have my albums with me to see who has mastered EOPE, ROTSC and TWM. It's very likely it was 3 different people but could have been the same guy. _________________ www.jahcoustic.com |

But Al Stone was the man behind the mixing desk for TRotSC, if I'm not mistaken. So what's the point of bringing him in for remastering, if the album was his work in the first place?
I would really like to hear a remastered version of TRotSC, because the original album has some kind of dimness in the sound, if you know what I mean. |
Al Stone produced songs for Jamiroquai throughout 3 albums, so he has a very good understanding of the 'Jamiroquai sound'. I think most fans would also agree that Synkronized has very well balanced production.
So if he applied the same methods he used on Synkronized to TRotSC then fans would probably be happy with the result. And yeah, if Sony hired whoever mastered Synk to do the mastering then the result would probably be good. |

I don't know, I'm not a big fan of the old "Jamiroquai sound" (I hope I don't get banned from here for this). I mean, the music is amazing, but the instruments don't always sound good to me, especially drums.

| I understand what you are saying, and if what you are saying is that the sound is like smothered, we are thinking alike. What i feel when I listen to the album is like they are playing inside a glass box. |
Yeah, that's how I feel about it, too. |

Re: Would you like an Emergency, ROTSC and TWM Remaster???

A couple of days ago, i was talking to my girlfriend that it would be awesome to have a remaster of the three first albums, because i think that their sound is kind of soft and not the best quality. What do you think??? would you like a remaster???, imagine one with some new versions of the old songs as extra bonuses!.
What do you think? |
Yes, specially ROTSC 'cos it sounds SO LOW!!! If I listen to the albums in my brand new Ipod Nano ( to Matute Vip) I have to set the volume up and down depending which album I am listening. The quality of the sound would be lots better. _________________ Call me up, turn me on, tune me in... |
