The sound on this trailer is pretty scary I'd say!
During the recording of the show, WKR didn't sound great (they still haven't found the right way to play it live) but listening to it again without the "gig atmosphere" there was on the set doesn't help make it sound better!
Anyway, still eager to see the show tonight! |

I've missed the broadcast today... because I was sleeping...
So I'll have to tune in on Friday! _________________

that French guy is terrible, he doesn't understand the lyrics at all
He's always asking the wrong questions. |

don't be so harsh, he must be the only guy on French TV to interview in English on live conditions |

I was like "Dude! Shut up and let the guy who wrote it tell us what it's about...!" Haha!
Pretty good - that cover would be a nice one to take on tour methinks _________________

Yeah you're right , but come one. He reads one sentence of Hurtin:
" got a head for money" => "Oh, the song is about money!"
How about translating the other sentences as well...
But I think the documentary they made was very good. |

The host (Nagui) is very famous in France and even if his English is a bit awkward, he's indeed the only guy to interview guests in English (and you're all lucky they didn't overdub Jay with a French voice, that's what happens most of the time on French TV)
But I agree most of his "lyrics" questions were a bit pointless and irrelevant, and I like the way Jay keeps (kindly) replying that he's wrong. He made that with other artists during the show, with pretty much all of them replying he got the lyrics wrong...
Actually, "Neon Trees" was interviewed as well and, at some point, Nagui misses what the singer says (Singer says his girlfriend dumped him at a friend's wedding while Nagui understands it was the day the singer was to get married with that girl) and one can see that the singer kinda understands he got it wrong but just lets it go.

fantastic cover version but don't know if it will ever beat the original
i don't think Jay was too comfortable there, eherm!
I also still don't think WKR translates well live unfortunately but it was a solid performance _________________

Regarding Jay being confortable, I was told they had planned on playing Hendrix' "Crosstown traffic" and decided during the day that they'd rather play California Soul.
No clue if it's correct, though...
Anyway, Jay had a lyrics sheet in front of him during the song... |

yeah I have to agree.. I must say I haven´t been a big fan of the WKR live versions...I don´t know..in the chorus..jays´voice and the backing singers..it just sounds very thin compared what we are used from the album version...
yeah as you said russky..it doesn´t " translate well" unfortunately.because I really love the song!! _________________ "Here it is...there is no way to make it better " |
