wow. the song is really good!!!
the strings, the soft guitar, jay scatting like in the old days, the keys, and the solo. they are great. very nice song!!
and about the design... another great decision by the people at jamiroquai.com |

Here's what I have so far for the lyrics. The format of the verses may be a little off but here ya go:
SMILE
Smile!
'Cause you are the one
Like beautiful birds
This is our song
I took you for a dancer
And now we're here alone
No other eyes to see us
We're on our own
So what's your occupation (baby won't you smile?)
Are you a fly by night? (good to have you smile)
No time to waste in asking, I think that I'm right
And I can't help but love you when you smile
Then we embrace
Like beautiful birds
This is our song
You're the one baby (just smile)
We're lost on the breeze
Like beautiful birds (in the sky)
This is our song
And it's not too late to tango
And I want you all the time
Your lips were made to kiss me
Baby I like your style
I know I feel this good about ya
I still feel the same about ya
I know I feel this good about ya
And I can't help but love you when you smile
You are the one
All lost on the breeze
This is our song
You're the one baby (just smile)
Then we embrace
Like beautiful birds (yeah)
This is our song
And I can't help but love you when...
Come on smile for me _________________ If it ain't no natural law, then you can keep your regulations. 'Cause if I like it, I do it.

4th time listening to this track and I just have to comment again....I'm getting goosebumps listening to this, I absolutely love these mellow, laid-back tracks |
I must comment again too I'm afraid... just played it several times but also every time I get goosebumps!!!! Specially from 3.20 till 3.50!!! (after Jay sings Come on and smile for me...) Just such a big smile (happy)factor!! And then the trumpet coming in... just perfect!!! Indeed an oldschool feel!!!!
Sooo happy you've made me again JMQ !!!! _________________ You still blow my mind... |

Maybe I am a bit overexcited.... but at the moment I would say that this song is better than the whole RDLS deluxe album!
This gives me a similar feeling as my favourite Jamiroquai song "SIT"....

I would like to go one step further and claim that this is the BEST SONG they have released with the current formation! (At least what we were able to listen - who knows what gems do exists but have never been released!!!)
THANK YOU JAMIROQUAI!! _________________ ~ I look up to Heaven, every star I see is mine.

Thumbs up from New Mexico!
Great little tune. Tucks in nicely with the ROTSC/TWM era tracks. As mentioned, perfect for summer BBQs, twilight time and cuddling with your favorite girl or guy.
Thanks to the band for letting us have this. Ya did good, boys...Ya did good. _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. I'm starting to agree that this is the best track from the RDLS era, I mean as much as I love She's a Fast Persuader, the track Smile just has such a classic Jamiroquai sound to it and I've been listening to it on repeat for the last hour! I am just waiting for night to come so I can go out for a drive alongside the beach while blasting Smile _________________ If it ain't no natural law, then you can keep your regulations. I always expect amazing things from Jamiroquai, but I'm massively impressed with this! All I'm missing now is some sunshine and a large glass of vino!
I'm totally convinced though that, somehow, Jay didn't see Dye's artwork. Because if he had, how could he not have chosen it!? Maybe he skipped past that page by accident.. _________________ May the wind always be at your back, and the sun upon your face...
