infact it's like an Incognito track from the intro - Centre Of The Sun or something on the 'No Time Like The Future' album
& the closest Jamiroquai track has to be 'Butterfly'
bloody class!!!

HEY HEY HEY NOW ! Some people can't stay online forever, I had to work today, if only they had released this prior to me returning to my work schedule then I would have been on this like white on rice . Anyway, thanks for the first Smile lyrics stab Brother Zeio, consider mine a supplement, 'ere we go again:
SMILE LYRICS:
Smile
Cause you are the one
Like beautiful birds
This is our song
I took you for a dancer
And now we're here alone
No other eyes to see us
We're on our own
So what's your occupation (Baby won't you smile)
Are you a fly by night? (Good to have you smile)
No time to waste in asking, I think that I'm right
And I can't help but love you when you smile
Then we embrace
Like beautiful birds
This is our song
You're the one baby (just smile)
We're lost on the breeze
Like beautiful birds (in the sky)
This is our song
And it's not too late to tango
And I want you all the time
Your lips were made to kiss me
Baby I like your style
I know I feel this good about ya
I still feel the same about ya
I know I feel this good about ya
And I can't help but love you when you smile
You are the one
All lost on the breeze
This is our song
You're the one baby (just smile)
Then we embrace
Like beautiful birds (yeah)
This is our song
And I can't help but love you when...
Come on smile for me
There you go, Brother Zeio has it dead-on on the lyrics, again great job bro . As for my thoughts about 'Smile', I agree with the consensus of my fellows, this one hell of a 'homerun out of the park', absolutely positively impeccably amazingly stupendously stellarly and all other 'lys', the most lush effort from Jamiroquai of their 'RDLS era' . Think the coolest and most notably awesome moment of 'Smile' is where JK returns to scatting with the brass starting at 3:35 in the song, truly makes 'Smile' seem like an 'old but new song' . Lyrically, very good and summery, just what we need to drink some lemonade in the sun. I applaud them, this was an awesome new song, of such amazing quality, to impart on the Jamily for free, even through the ruckus of this wait, which I tried in my damndest to not get to me, though it seemed to leak out in a couple of my corresponding posts . Anyway, those are my thoughts, now, where's 'Super Highway'? Will that be next week into the next week? ! I'm kidding of course. Cheers!
Sincerely Gratified & Happy,
JamiroFan2000
P.S. Is it wrong for me to attach 'Smile' to my RDLS album tracklist on my media player ? It is after all a RDLS era song and just sounds great at track 21 on RDLS, right after the extended version of AGTTH. _________________

Smile should've made it to RDLS. |
It's a brilliant track so I agree it should've made the album, but when I think about it I can't think of a place that it would 'fit' into the album. So for that reason I'm glad we got it this way. Plus it's a nice little treat to fill the gap between album releases. It would be good if they did it again in the future. _________________ May the wind always be at your back, and the sun upon your face...

Very true, I still think it fits right in at the deadend of the RDLS album tracklisting, right after the other leftovers/bonus tracks (I.E. WKR (Demo), AGITH (Extended Version), Hang It Over, That's Not The Funk & Angeline) . At least that's my preference....I just don't see 'Smile' sitting alone on my media player... . Cheers!
Sincerely,

Thanks a lot JamiroFan I was hoping someone would add on or make any corrections to the lyrics I typed up, so thanks for the supplement! I'm also hoping for Super Highway to be released at some point _________________ If it ain't no natural law, then you can keep your regulations. 'Cause if I like it, I do it. |

As I do Brother Zeio, maybe as either a 'logical bonus track' on a physical/digital U.S. RDLS release OR as yet another free download down the road . In regards to your lyrics, it's no problem brother, you nailed perfectly, I'm sure I would have them as good if I hadn't been at work at the time of the release. Cheers!
Sincerely,

Seriously, when is RDLS coming out in the US? This is really ridiculous.
I'm kind of hoping for something radical... like a totally different tracklist to kickstart a return to America. I suppose that's crazy, but a guy can dream... |

More like 'ridiculously redonkulous', but yeah, it is rather weird that it hasn't even been released on 'american' digital outlets . But I think they are intentionally staggering this release, probably to the point where there's enough 'bonus material' to suffice either a physical/digital deluxe edition for stateside release. Could see the other leftover RDLS material, that is either unheard/heard being added to make one hell of an both impressive/expansive future RDLS release, maybe up to an astounding 23-25 tracklist! Cheers!
Sincerely,

I just love it ! Why isn't it on RDLS ? Why Blue Skies and not "Smile" ? I hope we're gonna hear it live... |

OMG! Well, all I wanted to say, you've already did. For me, is the best string ussage of all the JMQ songs. Absolutely brilliant! And the rest, superb! Lyrics, brass... perfect to listen alone at midnight too, IMO... THANKS! _________________ Say I changed

I'm truly blown away.
First reason is the track. It's absolutely beautiful, and probably their best B side. It could have been easily included in the final album. I honestly thought that, being a left over from RDLS sessions and being a free song, it wasn't gonna be that great. Instead we got a full 5 minutes of sax and trumpet solos and excellent string arrangements. Great, great song.
Second reason is your response towards my art covers, thank you very much.
I deleted them not because of commercial reasons (@Javis) but because I don't want them to spread around like those buffalos Mojo and I did a couple of years ago. Even the 'winner' used those for some of his designs.
There's a mix feeling about seeing your designs all over the place without a credit for them. As any designer would tell you, we spend a lot of time doing that type of work, is not just drawing and knowing how to use the photoshop. There's a certain art behind it.
So, whoever got the covers (it wasn't really all that hard to download them!) please keep them to yourself and try not to upload them to internet. I'll really appreciate that.
Now, a big congratulations for the band for releasing something NEW and this GOOD! |
