Theories of Current 6th album delays!!!
"Cor, not early 2005, geez, I need a supermodel quick!!!"
Hello,
I have been thinking and thinking about what possible factors could have contributed to the massive delays for the 6th Jam album. Here's some theories of scenarios that could have derailed the new album, in my opinion of course:
1. The band & JK aren't completely satified with the final mixings of the new album and are currently rerecording specific songs OR the whole album till they are completely happy with it.
2. The band & JK had a "falling out" (Big fight) with how Sony has handled their releases and other issues.
3. There has been absolutely no communication between Sony and JK & Jamiroquai, so updates can be issued on the Official Site.
4. Like with all CD releases, there were manufacturing mishaps for the new album that are currently being rectified, thus pushing back the release date several months.
That's all I could think up, please feel free to leave your Theories on what could have delayed the new album. Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________

Brent, about me, i agree with your 1st theory: i think that something isn't going as it should, maybe some musical arrangements or even the new entry of Alex is "causing" some problems....who knows?
BTW....for me there is no logical explication about this f***** album' delay: for all the world fans it's really unbearable!!!! C'mon!!!!!!!!!!! _________________

Hello there,
OK. All your theories are alright Brent, but for me:
I believe the first single was going to be Black Devil Car and everything was finished to be released. BUT with the license problem of Jay they had to change plans and look for another single selection (imagine a guy singing on the radio about his car... and he can't drive any, I guess the single won't work), so that takes time. That's what I think.

I'd agree with you Diego, but it can't be that long to choose another single when all the album is recorded and in the can. I think the first theory is close to the right one. I don't think it's 100% done. _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. remember the copyright issues they had with the samples on Main Vein? another possibility. but regarding the driving ban: it's for six months, right? that means even if BDC is released early next year, Jay still won't be street legal. de da dum da de... _________________ i left my funk in san francisco

personally i think the driving ban is great for the new album...gives publicity. and what better about singing about a fast car then getting a driving ban for driving too fast. sounds kinda weird but thats sales and promotion for ya. maybe a conspiracy by sony to get him banned! but i think the hold up is just silence. do you know how hard it is too keep a cdp from not being copied now with piracy and everything...lots and lots of silence |

chill
so the album may be pushed back till next year.hmmmmmm who should we blame?
is it the band, fighting and arguing?
is it cos they started to record from scratch?(doubtfull)
i have heard that Sony are involved in a merger with BMG.Maybe thats the reason. |

McFly, I have to disagree about that...
The official website has announced an Autumn 2004 release - already one year ago, when Nick left... so IF there is a release in 2005 we can indeed speak of a "delay"...

"Nick Fyffe, bass player with Jamiroquai from 1998 - 2003 has left the band to concentrate on his own projects. Jamiroquai, who are currently working on their 6th studio album, due for release Autumn 2004, will announce the name of their new bassist shortly." source: http://www.jamiroquai.co.uk/eng/jnews/default.asp

nuh oh
but that was not really an anouncement for me...
it was more a "nick left... but hey! a new album is coming soon, so forget about nick!!"
I knew about the sony finnland announcement. but I am very sure the official site never said anything else about a new album.
maybe the new album is already in stores and there is no publicity |

Hi, again
Nah... I don't think they recorded everything again! They had to go to New York, LA... it could cost them a lot!
Uh, they were in Costa Rica for the writing of the album... mmm what kind of music does Costa Rica influences? I can imagine Sola's rhythm... I don't know... I'm so bored of trying to imagine how the new album will sound like!

delay
i think the 'delay' has been mostly due to the album simply not being at a standard that Jay and the group are happy with...i think that this album is a very important point in the band's life...the lineup has changed dramatically since the last album and this can be seen as the beginning of a new direction in how Jamiroquai exists as a band...and if they can be considered (by sony) as a continued financially viable artist...as such i think they would want to make it as polished and exciting as possibe...especially Jay who as we all know has had a tumultous time in the last few years and, as he is getting older, would be seriously starting to consider his legacy...he has stated in interviews before that he is still waiting for 'that special, momentous track' that he will be remembered for...maybe thats what he's trying for this time and that could be why they are taking their time!
what are everyone's thoughts on this??? _________________ Have to get UP to get DOWN
