Great! Thanks for posted it and made it available to us for download.
Here is my recommendation...Just and advice: before you say "c'mon!" when you'll open the link, just give them a shoot and enjoy the groovy bass line, which is one of my favourites.

The groovy background is fine, but as I suspected, it´s not a work from the Spice Girls. Like most of the "plastic superstars" they just limit themselves to steal a tune from some 70´s funk band and sing over it. Then receive a bunch of silly awards and get credit from basically being music thiefs. In this case, they stole "Zhane - Hey Mr DJ". _________________ Away from soliloquies of sadness

It's a good info, Vintage. I didn't know it.
I'm a big fan from Spice Girls, and I'm not ashamed of it at all.
I don't know If they once said that sometimes they used to take different bases from old tracks to create their songs (like many artist use to do today, like Daft Punk or Girl Talks, just to mention a few of them)
I can't say that I'm sure, but It's a bit hard for me to think that they "stole" that base. Maybe the producers simply bought the copyrights from that song to the music company who owns them and then created "Something Kinda Funny" (which, from my point of view, even If it has a very similar bass line of "Hey Mr Dj", it's still a different song) Many many many artist did, do and will do the same over the years. And as for me, it doesn't matter If the Spice Girls said it or not.
So, my point of view is this. Like I said, many many many artist use to take (legally) old bases to create their songs. And most of the times, people who listen to that track doesn't know that I was created by taking an old base. Some artists say it, some artists don't. But the tendence is to critizice to the "plastic bands" (as you called them) for that and not to the "not plastic bands" which also do that. But for me, If they do this legally, It doesn't matter If I get notice that one or another song come from another old base, because I would enjoy both the "new" song that I used to listen over the years and the "old" song which was the base to create that "new" song.
"Hey Mr DJ", from Zhane, sounds really good. I liked it. Thanks again to made me notice that, Vintage.
"Something Kinda Funny" simply sounds better for me and, admited that they probably took the bass line, It's still a different song. |

I bought this when it first came out!
But the closest I'd get to a spice girls is if that hotty David Beckham was there
Zhane -"Hey Mr. DJ" is a classic.

There´s Jamiroquai-ish sound in some of his work, so I suggest you give it a try ...
Cheers to all _________________ Away from soliloquies of sadness
