Hmmmm..Japanese Album Reissues Coming Oct. 2012?!?
Hello,
Looks like their might just be some Jami album reissues coming out in Japan in the month of October 2012, at least, based off the U.S. import street dates. It appears that most of the album catalogue is being reissued (not counting RDLS, Dynamite, Synkronized OR AFO), each with a Bonus CD attached to them. Here are the listings of the imports from CDUniverse of each album, still no tracklistings for these new reissues....yet:
Emergency On Planet Earth (2012 Japanese Reissue):
http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=8805263&style=music&setpref=none
The Return Of The Space Cowboy (2012 Japanese Reissue):
http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=8805324&style=music&setpref=none
Travelling Without Moving (2012 Japanese Reissue):
http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=8805391&style=music&setpref=none
UPDATE 1#: Found listings for each one on Amazon.com too, here they are, still no specifics on tracklistings, so be patient:
EOPE:
http://www.amazon.com/Emergency-Planet-Earth-Jamiroquai/dp/B008OJ7R28/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1345336022&sr=8-15&keywords=Jamiroquai+Import
TROTSC:

TWOM:

I will post further when I find out the tracklistings for these reissues, but I pretty know/would expect they will probably just add all the B-Sides from each reissue's respective album periods on each Bonus CD. Cheers!
Sincerely,

Yeah I know, would probably be the closest to ACTUAL 'complete remasterings' of the Jamiroquai album catalogue that I have been harping for nearly decades at Sony Music in needing to be done (that is, if these reissues ARE 'remastered'). But I have been racking my brain trying to think what the 'bonus CD' tracklistings of each of these 3 reissues might look like, here are what I THINK they will look like:
* : Disclaimer: These aren't official tracklistings for the 'bonus cd' of each of these new releases, just what I THINK they will look like *
EMERGENCY ON PLANET EARTH (2012 Japanese Reissue):
BONUS CD:
1. When You Gonna Learn (JK Mix AND/OR Cante Hondo Mix)
2. Too Young To Die (Original Demo)
3. If I Like It, I Do It (UK LP Extended Version)
4. Too Young To Die (UK LP Extended Version)
5. Revolution 1993 (Demo)
6. Friends (Unreleased 'Nomi Rehearsal Demo' 1993)
7. Music Of The Mind (Unreleased 'Nomi Rehearsal Demo' 1993)
8. Funky Seven (Unreleased 'Nomi Rehearsal' Instrumental 1993)
9. Emergency On Planet Earth (Extended Version)
10. Hooked Up (Instrumental)
THE RETURN OF THE SPACE COWBOY (2012 Japanese Reissue):
BONUS CD:
1. Space Cowboy (Demo)
2. Stillness In Time (UK LP Extended Version)
3. Space Clav (Instrumental B-Side)
4. The Kids (Japanese Edit)
5. Emergency On Planet Earth (London Rican Mix)
6. Space Cowboy (Classic Club Mix)
7. Morning Glory (Instrumental)
TRAVELLING WITHOUT MOVING (2012 Japanese Reissue):
BONUS CD:
1. Do You Know Where Your Coming From (Extended Mix ; Feat. M-Beat)
2. Bullet (Instrumental B-Side)
3. Slippin' N' Slidin' (Instrumental B-Side)
4. Cosmic Girl (Classic Mix)
5. Alright (DJ Version Excursion)
6. High Times (Jamiroquai Mix)
7. Funktion (Album Bonus Track)
8. Hollywood Swinging (Live 'Kool & The Gang' Cover)
Now they could surprise us with putting out rare demos/sessions on these Bonus CDs that are even readily known to yours truly but that's how I would like to see them look on these upcoming Japanese Reissues. I will post again soon with the 'official' tracklistings once I can confirm them. Cheers!
Sincerely,

Hello again,
Just found 3 new sales listings for these japanese reissues of Jamiroquai's first 3 albums on Best Buy.com's website, here are their sales listings pages, and yes, they are being adverted as being '2 discs':

EMERGENCY ON PLANET EARTH (2012 Japanese Reissue):
http://tinyurl.com/cmpq62c
THE RETURN OF THE SPACE COWBOY (2012 Japanese Reissue):
http://tinyurl.com/ck2zug7
TRAVELLING WITHOUT MOVING (2012 Japanese Reissue):

Still no tracklistings noted, will post again soon! Cheers!

Yeah, I know what you mean, but being a '2 CD set' each reissue, that is actually a pretty normal but still inflated price for a Japanese Import. Import CDs have nearly always been high, I remember buying a couple of import albums back in the late 90s, back then they ranged between $40-$45 each, and import singles were the better deal at between $15-$10 each (bought ALOT of Jamiroquai import singles back then!). But I might just buy only 1 of these 3 reissues, definitely out of my price range OR probably be naughty and wait for them to leak online. Cheers!
Sincerely,

Hello again,
Just as I found those sales listings on that Denmark sales site, I just found these reissues listed on an Australian site called 'Red Eye Records' ( http://www.redeye.co.au ) , here are their sales lists info cut n pasted:
JAMIROQUAI - EMERGENCY ON PLANET EARTH (BONUS CD) (JP - CD
SNYJ6606747.2 - USA release date : 23.10.2012 AUS $68.98
export approx YEN ¥4,849
JAMIROQUAI - RETURN OF THE SPACE COWBOY (BONUS CD) (J - CD
SNYJ6606748.2 - USA release date : 23.10.2012 AUS $68.98
export approx YEN ¥4,849
JAMIROQUAI - TRAVELLING WITHOUT MOVING (BONUS CD) (JP - CD
SNYJ6606749.2 - USA release date : 23.10.2012 AUS $68.98
export approx YEN ¥4,849
The interesting thing I noticed is that these reissues, at least on this site, are being noted as 'USA Releases', could they be releasing these in the states too on the same street date OR am I just misreading this? Anyway, will post again with more sales listings or whatever the heck I can find! Cheers!
Sincerely,

Gah, I'd like to have the extended version of Too young to die on an official release so bad, but the prices of these Japanese reissues are crazy!
Are they wrapped in gold? _________________

Hello again,
Well, thought I would give y'all an update on these impending japanese reissues. So far, I have seen 'tons' of new sales listings popping up all over the net for these reissues, but absolutely NONE of them giving me the 'tracklistings' for each. Notably, mostly on all the world's AMAZON.COM sites and just today I noticed them EVEN noted for 'pre-order' on Barnes & Noble's website, for those interested, here are those sale listing pages for each:
EOPE:
http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/emergency-on-planet-earth/25025923?ean=4547366067477
ROTSC:
http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/return-of-the-space-cowboy/25025924?ean=4547366067484
TWOM:
http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/travelling-without-moving/25025925?ean=4547366067491
Still think the most confounding thing about this is the sheer lack of 'particulars' that are being released. That is, no tracklistings, usually when Imports are listed they 9 times out of 10 have them complimenting the sales listings. But I guess I could chalk it up as my 'impatience' that I'm spewing out but hopefully I will know more soon. I have passed on the news of these reissues to Rob Harris/Nick Van Gelder, and they were surprised, Rob admitted he had heard 'murmurs' of these reissues down the 'pipeline'. Anyway, will post again soon when I know more, Cheers!
Sincerely,

Indeed. Sony is not famous to published good reissues. I hope that will not be a collection of remixes (Sony Like it !). They could obviously give a mixture of alternate tracks and live tracks. October is soon !
By the way, some news from Jamiroquai album 8 ? _________________ "People find it's hard to be strong, cos' they don't know where they're coming from" |

I always thought that could be a fun title for a future album. Like a film saga. The Revenge of the Space Cowboy. |
