Hello again,
..I still can't believe that we're nearly 1 week out from these japanese reissue releases and not one peep of a tracklisting have made it's way to online retailer sites. So frustrating sometimes, to be honest, when their are falterings like this, especially when it comes to 'reissues'. I might send a message to Rob and see if he knows anything yet, though the last time I spoke with him on Facebook, he was in the same confounding state that we're all are pertaining to these releases. I'll post again when I hear something...though it's pretty fucking tiring visiting all the retail sites every day looking for the tracklists to be added. Cheers!
Sincerely,

Honestly, no sign of these releases on HMV.co.jp (the most reliable Japanese site to me), same on amazon.co.jp, same on CDjapan.co.jp, my bet is... not happening! |

I don't know, I mean, nearly all the online retailers I can think of and have found in the past weeks all have listings for these reissues, unless these reissues are being 'made in japan' but are purely 'imported'. That is, not being sold in Japan and being primarily sold worldwide as 'Japanese Imports'. Mind you, I have never seen something like that happen in all my years as a music consumer, but it's not strange that it might be that scenario after all OR at least they are waiting to announce a 'delayed release' of these reissues. Anyway, Cheers!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000
P.S. Most Japanese retail sites, from my experience, aren't the most 'reliable' at updating their sales listings for new releases UNLESS they are Japanese recording artists. _________________

Well, actually there already had been plans of a Jamiroquai greatest hits release for Japan (I *think* it was after Synk, maybe TWM) and there were similar listings on many websites. The CD never arrived and all listings ended up disappearing from online stores.
I think these reissue listings are/were indeed planned by Sony Japan and that the catalogue numbers appeared in some "forthcoming" releases listings which some online retailers added in their database. The links I've checked seem to be mainly stores that list absolutely everything they hear of and order from suppliers as they receive orders from customers (though I did see Sears and Kmart, which probably don't work that way).
Anyway, I do hope that these get released, but I doubt we'll ever see them, or at least not before another couple of months : no precise information, the band not aware, no communication from Sony... By now, we would have had some kind of information... |

As I do too, I have been keeping tabs and discovering the majority of these reissue sales listings through their catalogue # & their ASIN # on random Google Searches. And I can safely say there's nearly sales listings for these reissues in every European country, including the lion's share of them on American retail sites, including the most notable being Best Buy.com, Amazon.com, CDUniverse.com, KMart.com, Barnes&Noble.com and many others. Most likely these reissues are looking at some kind of 'yet-to-be-announced delayed release' in Japan given there's not given a note of these releases on Japanese sites. But I hope these do come out at some point, at least for once we can't complain about Universal Music on these foible releases...hehe, and that's slightly reassuring (I guess). Cheers!
Sincerely,

Hello again,
I think I figured something out, Oct. 23rd, at least here in the states is 'Record Store Day BLACK FRIDAY', another special day where independent record stores put out limited edition releases from various artists. Given this past Record Store Day, back in April 2012, they finally released RDLS here in the states in a double vinyl/CD bundle, it would make some sense if they Japanese reissues are included in this OR I could be completely wrong. They just issued the first 'release list' for Record Store Day BLACK FRIDAY at the following with alot more releases to be confirmed:
http://www.recordstoreday.com/SpecialReleases#Various
If I finally come across those tracklists for these reissues, I will of course post them here, Cheers!
Sincerely,

Hello again,
The wait continues for the tracklists, sorry to say, but I did find a few things, at the very least, 'descriptions'. One the BestBuy.com sales listings for these reissues, I found the following 'release note write-ups' with each one:
Emergency on Planet Earth [Bonus CD] [10/23]: Release Notes: Muze
Personnel: Jay Kay (vocals); Glenn Nightingale, Gavin Dodds, Simon Bartholomew (guitar); Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra (strings); Mike Smith, Gary Barnacie (flute, saxophone); Wallis Buchanan (didjeridoo); John Thirkell (trumpet); Richard Edwards (trombone); Toby Smith (keyboards); Stuart Zender, Andrew Levy (bass); Nick Van Gelder (drums); Kofi Kari Kari, Maurizio (percussion); D.J. Zire (DJ); Linda Lewis, Vanessa Simon (background vocals).Includes liner notes by Jay Kay.Jamiroquai's debut brings together a utopian worldview, funky '70s R&B influences and the liberated sensibility of England's burgeoning acid-jazz movement. The band, led by singer Jason "Jay" Kay, rides a funky groove while spreading a message of peace, love and environmental conscientiousness. The results of this meeting of heart and head range from Brazilian-flavored instrumentals like "Music Of The Mind" to to songs like "If I Like It, I Do It," on which yesterday's jazzy soul is spun around on today's hip-hoppy turntables.Jamiroquai also flexes its improvisational muscle on two songs that clock in at over eight minutes. On "Blow Your Mind," Kay scats like George Benson, and the band captures the funky flow of "Summer Madness"-era Kool & The Gang. "Revolution 1993" is a 10-minute vamp on self-determination, featuring an Afro-Caribbean rhythm, Herbie Mann-inspired flute, a raging Moog synthesizer and the darting strings of the Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra.
Return of the Space Cowboy [Bonus CD] [10/23]: Release Notes: Muze
Jamiroquai includes: Jay (vocals); Toby Smith (keyboards); Wallis (vibraphone); Stuart Zender (bass); Derrick McKenzie (drums).Following up a debut, EMERGENCY ON PLANET EARTH, that bubbled over with soul, funk and outrageous acid-jazz rhythms, RETURN OF THE SPACE COWBOY brings the tempo down a notch, without losing any of its funky musical edge (or any of its idealistic lyrical flow). Singer Jason "Jay" Kay's vocals maintain the smooth manner of Stevie Wonder and Al Green, as demonstrated on "Stillness In Time," which evokes the Brazilian grooves of Antonio Carlos Jobim, and on the quiet-storm-like title track. Wallis Buchanan's didgeridoo, a Jamiroquai trademark, returns particularly strongly on "Journey To Arnhemland," which sounds like the theme from an Aboriginal blaxploitation flick.Lest this become a totally low-key affair, a handful of tracks guarantee Jamiroquai isn't faking the funk. "The Kids" opens up the band's sound with greasy wah-wah guitar, punchy horns and a bouncy Moog syunthesizer. Live and studio versions of "Light Years" mix in equal amounts Parliament-Funkadelic and Earth, Wind & Fire, guaranteeing hours of head-bopping and toe-tapping.
Travelling Without Moving [Bonus CD] [10/23]: Release Notes: Muze
Track 13, "Do You Know Where You're Coming From," is listed on the album packaging only as "Bonus Track."Jamiroquai: Jay Kay (vocals); Simon Katz (guitar); Toby Smith (keyboards); Stuart Zender (bass); Derrick McKenzie (drums); Wallis Buchanan (percussion).Additional personnel includes: Simon Hale (conductor, arranger); M-Beat (arranger).TRAVELLING WITHOUT MOVING was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Pop Album. "Virtual Insanity" won the 1998 Grammy for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal.
Of course, I'm getting the feeling by now that these could end up being 'delayed releases' from the sheer lack more 'specifics' coming out. But let's hope something gets announced soon, Cheers!
Sincerely,

Your very welcome Brother Jamfan ! Anyway, I checked around again on all the online retailers and it seems they are all updating their sales listings of these reissues with 'product descriptions'. That is, they have added those 'descriptions' I cut n pasted on my post, rather weird. But anyway, if they were delayed for release, hopefully we'll know something soon, I will keep checking my sources and check with Rob Harris, if I hear anything, I'll post it. Cheers!
Sincerely,

...... ..... ....... ......
Oh well, looks like I was right, practically all the online retailers are listing the 3 Japanese Jamiroquai Reissues's status as either 'backordered' or 'temporarily out of stock'. So I guess we're in for an 'indeterminate' delay on these reissues....* sighs *...cheers..
Sincerely,

Hello again,
Looks like the reissues are coming out AFTER ALL, they originally disappeared off online sales sites during the New Year, but this time, they are being released in the UK (Ireland exclusively apparently), through Sony Music Ireland, on March 8th 2013. They will each get a full audio remastering and here are the details (I.E. trackslistings) from their webpage about these impending reissues (LINK http://sonymusic.ie/news/jamiroquai-20th-anniversary-reissues ) :
2013 marks the 20th anniversary of Jamiroquai’s first album, ‘Emergency on Planet Earth’, and its first single released by Sony (‘When You Gonna Learn’).
To celebrate this milestone, Sony Music is proud to reissue the first three albums, ‘Emergency On Planet Earth’, ‘The Return of The Space Cowboy’, and ‘Travelling Without Moving’. These albums launched one of the UK’s most successful and innovative artists, and continue to define the funk and acid house genres.
Each album has been entirely remastered and comes with a bonus disc of B-sides, live performances, and rarities, including unreleased BBC archive material. Each six-panel digipack house two CDs and a 20-page booklet, featuring lyrics and a 2,000-word essay on the album, written by Jay Kay.
All three albums will be released in Ireland on Friday 8th March.

Exciting news, but, yeah, they are each missing a few key rarities, but they did hit the 'B-Side material' of each era's album release very well. I'm making an educated guess, based on import CD prices, being that these are being released in...uhh Ireland... ...they should each run about $35-$40 each. Will post further when I know more. Thanks to Funkin Site for this news as always. Cheers!
Sincerely,

I like how they mention acid house... Jamiroquai's music has fuck all to do with acid house! If I remember right, JK was doing his thing in opposition to the stuff in those early days. Perhaps they meant acid jazz?
Anyway... uninspiring bonus discs don't you think? Especially as most of us have all that stuff already. I guess people who don't will love it, coz there's some great stuff in there. It's just that there's nothing "new". Good to see that live stuff from Glasto - that's probably the most unexpected if you ask me.
I'm actually most looking forward to reading those essays and checking out the packaging. _________________

And what about the remastered TWM? For me that album doesn´t sound as powerful as others. Like if something was "switched off". _________________
