hardly. what's so flawless about it? nowadays, he can't sing the songs the way they were recorded. he has a very limited range and his voice is a lot raspier and more airy now. the guy from chili peppers has done a better job of maintaining his voice, i'd say. |

yea, anthony did a diferrent variety of drugs to jay, so it didnt affect his voice as much, but the throaghty rasp jay sometimes gives can seem unflawless...

yeah yeah ,maybe i exagerated with flawless, but i just wanted to say that in my opinion jay has a better voice than anthony. but is just my opinion.

I believe the latest RHCP videos (californication/by the way/stadium arcadium eras) are better then Jamiroquai's ones. But Jay sings way better than Kiedis.
But... I like RHCP a LOT

sorry to dig this 6 year old topic up but it just popped into my head (I searched first so that I wouldn't start a new topic). There are a lot of similarities between the band too.
RHCP
- Only two original members remain (Anthony, Flea)
- Drummer has been the same since 2nd or 3rd record
- General consensus that the band completely changed sound after lead guitarist left (some say transitional record was ok; titled One Hot Minute)
Jamiroquai
- Only one original member remains (Jay)
- Drummer has been the same since 2nd record

* My own opinion is that both bands are truly "live bands", meaning that both put one amazing live shows when compared to others who just come out play and leave (not true artists). But I do believe that Anthony's voice is not nearly as strong when performing live as Jay's is.
I just found some of those similarities interesting |

I don't really think there are striking similarities but definitely both are great live bands with great performances.
And I do wonder if Anthony Kiedis' expression of the Native Americans influenced Jay's expression. '92 was the time the Chili Peppers peaked and Kiedis' wore his long hair and donned his Native American tattoos. It made being Native American cool.  Maybe this influenced Jay K. Questioning Manifest Destiny and loving the Native tribes.
The music kept changing when the lead changed from Hillel to Frusiante to Navarro (sucked) and back to Frusiante. The best lead was Frusciante, who has quit a second time. Some young dude's in now who looks like Frusiante. Blood Sugar Sex Majik was their best. |

Hahaa great!!! I'm not the only one who thinks there are some similitaries between those two bands!! They are my favorite bands! I can't choose! Bests albums of music history to me : Blood Sugar Sex Magic and The Return Of the Space Cowboy...
I had the chance to see the RHCP live and it's was amazing! (Never saw Jamiroquai  ) I do agree that Jay's voice is "better" than Kiedis' but I think AK can write genius lyrics!
(Sorry for my bad english...)

Chad Smith has been in the band since the 4th album, which was "Mother's Milk".
Jay & Anthony are not similar...at all  |
