Jamiroquai in Mexico 25 Feb and 27 Feb
Jamiroquai Will be visiting Mexico
2 dates
25 Feb Mexico City
27 February Monterrey
This is the very first time Jquai will be visiting Monterrey, I expect that venue to be the coolest one, since in my humble opinion, Monterrey has a more posh kind of crowd, that´s just my opinion...
I´ve seen them live in Mexico city (I even managed to make a recording out of this) the gig was amazing, but it lacked that special momentum, that I´ve experienced in other venues.
Tickets start going out in a couple of hours from now for the monterrey venue:

Rock on!

They've added Guadalajara on March 1st
How safe is this area for American travelers?

and is the city great, or recommend traveling to another area?
Very Happy

Any area is safe for travelers and any kind of inhabitant that is not a cop, a judge or directly related to gangs...also if you're business owner...well...it's shady, but you as a tourist, and pretty much everyone else (that behaves in a smart way) is SAFE....

My Mexican opinion

Officials are mostly not to be trusted, yes. It's the same case in the US. Yes traveling from the D down to Mexico City is too much expense.

I even had the chance to pull some strings to go backstage, but didn't even bother traveling from Houston to Mexico...I'd rather use my spring break to go on a photography trip to the Southwest. Guess times have changed for me as a jamiroquai fan...

Very Happy
you're in Houston? how do you like the states?

It's crazy to want to travel to see a band!!
I only want to see them just one time!!
I never thought I'd get back stage.

But traveling to new places makes you conspicuous and sounds like Mexico can be a concern.

I love Houston. It is amazing!

Please rest assured you'll be extremely safe and fine if you travel to Mexico. Just be smart, no running around at night alone or in obviously shady places.

The concert venue is located in a shady place, so try and bring somebody along, or meet with the Mexican fans that will go to the concert as well. I am sure they can communicate in English and I know they're very cool people. If interested, I'll hook you up with them.

I have been twice to their gigs in Mexico City and they were well worth it, I am sure you won't regret it if you go. This time I had the chance to even go backstage, but as I said before, there was a time when I cared about that, not anymore, I guess.

Cops are not to be trusted! But I concur with Jamirowolf, just behave in a normal way, away from shady parts of town and stuff, and you will do just fine...

Back in 2005 I did a weekend trip from Monterrey to San francisco to see them live. Saw them perfom at the fillmore and got into a plane back to MTY to present a Final test (with the tour tshirt on straight from the airport haha)

Only a couple of days left and I cant wait! I feel so alive
