Wow, thanksss a lot!! Look how long these texts are but still it's a pleasure to read them! It flows really quickly... and it also makes me want to read stuff like this about the other albums.

It's very inspirational... thanks again!

I have been wanting to know the meaning of Mr. Moon for YEARS! Obviously I know it's about a girl, but what was so great about her, where was it, who was she, why didn't it work out. Then to find out Toby stole her I thought to myself "what a weasel! But his chords he wrote for this album are (to me) the best chords on the album (maybe of all his chords) so I can't hate him. His apology whether intentional or not was writing killer music. For the rest of time, you can listen to it and hear I'm sorry through those unbelievable chords."
Then as I kept reading Jay said the exact same thing I had just thought a few seconds earlier!!! Very cool and very informative.
You must forgive me for gushing, but I'm a keyboard player so while I hear Jay Derrick Nick Simon Stuart I'm ACTUALLY really listening for all of Toby's brilliance.

The man was on acid, so who knows what Jay was seeing when he saw this woman! It's like a warped version of Beer Goggles! So he was both mentally and visually impaired! Laughing

I'd gone for a pee and it came to me as I went. After I'd finished I went running back into the studio, told everyone to stop what they were doing, and within five minutes we had this boogie going.

Just make sure you wash your hands next time, sir. Cool

JamiroFan, thanks for these notes! It's very interesting to get a hint of what pains have been taken just to crank out a song or two. I know inspiration comes in many ways....but I'm even more glad that he's growing out of it.

I love this part Laughing

For me there was a lot of info on the band. How they came together, mainly as session musicians, And also wondered about Nick's departure.

It takes confidence to let a track breathe and do it's own thing and to not over complicate it.

Like the "Smoke & Mirrors" tune?

Ummm yeah right. They clearly took the bass line from Idris Muhammad's "Could Heaven Ever Be Like This"! I am not buying it Jay...

i wanna read more¡¡¡¡

i love this line

Making an album is like designing a car: you have to resist the distractions and interference otherwise you end up with something boxy and average that looks nothing like your original swooping, curvy vision, the one that got everyone excited in the first place.
