[New Band Recommendation] Ibibio Sound Machine
Hello again,
Yep, been burning through my Spotify searches lately trying to discover more worthwhile new music for my awaiting ears. Just came across another great new band, but this time with a more african flavor. Ibibio Sound Machine's stirring, infectious self-titled album is a first, an African-electronic fusion work, melding traditional African percussion, native tongues and western dub/funk/acid jazz/DJ together into a bonfire of absolute audible joy. The whole debut is so unique, up there with the unorthodox funk of South Africa's John Wizards and TOTALLY worth a listen for those adventurous music fans looking for something 'super funky' to listen to...one of the best debuts of 2014.
