Indeed, I was surprised to see that (according to listings on Funkin), they never played "Where do We go from Here" live !

Regarding "Do You Know...", I do like the track, but I don't think it would sound good live... The song is too "cold" and it would probably sound like an anti-climax as it is. They should rework it to warm it up live, but that could work!

I had the chance to hear Stillness in Time during the soundcheck at a gig in Paris Bercy in 1999. Don't know why they played it as was never featured during the tour, but it was a special moment!

On my end, among the tracks they don't play often enough, I'd love to hear:
- Blow Your Mind
- Emergency on Planet Earth
- Stillness in Time
- Mr Moon
- Soul Education
- ...and one a side note, "You are my love" would also be a nice surprise (not sure if they ever played it...)

They played an instrumental version of "You are my love" at the soundcheck before the rock in roma gig in july 2011. And also one of the never performed song of off RDLS (can't remember which...)

well I'd love to see Earth, Wind & Fire in their Midnight years!
c'mon those guys started in '69, and still going strong! It looks like they've had over 100 different members! Laughing

over the summer I saw 2 fabulous singers -Mark Farner (65) and Chuck Negron (72)! I was amazed at how great they sounded. (Negron has quite a story).

It seems that Jamiroquai really doesn't do ballads.
Have they ever played Spend a Lifetime live?
Stillness in Time would be divine!
Also Smile & Where do We go from here would be excellent to see live.

Hahaha, I know right? I lost count with Earth Wind and Fire!

Where Do We Go From Where?

Weeeell...if he's looking to replace Little L, that would be perfect. After all they're basically the same song. (Content-wise...they're practically identical.)

It's a shame about the ballads. Spend a Lifetime was one of their better ones.

I think it would sound good live. It gives your audience a breather after playing some faster songs. Since the beat, itself, is a chilled mood, plus it being a song from the "classic" Jamiroquai days, it would be well received. Not only that, but the band plays bassa nova versions of some of their most overplayed songs and no one complains....unless they really wanted a change to the setlist. It's not supposed to sound like it's thumping the walls with mega-bass, it's simply not that kind of song. Just like Space Cowboy is not that type of song, and Tallulah.

The only difference is the amount of exposure you have to them playing it. That's the only thing.

They did play Where Do We Go From Here live though, during the first show of the Synkronized tour. http://www.jamirotalk.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=113559

David Rowe (who owns funkin) went to the show and I think he might have also confirmed it once that they played the song but I can't seem to find a link for that so I'm not sure.

They definitely need to re-think the setlist. As much as I like Cosmic Girl, High Times, Little L and, to a lesser extent, Deeper Underground, I don't want to hear them again.
Not just when I listen to the audience recordings, but even live, I'd prefer to be surprised with another batch of songs. They do resemble Earth, Wind & Fire in that they play only the hits. It's a greatest hits concert.

I really believe they've earned the right to play whatever they want to play, without trying to please the generic audience that only wants to hear Cosmic Girl, you know what I mean?

Or this.

These are Jamiroquai Tour Statistics. They show how many times they've played their songs while on tour. It covers the entire range of their career.

If the top 10 doesn't speak volumes, I don't know what does.

What? Little L is about falling out of love, and Where do We go from Here is about not getting love started...
like it matters! We all imagine our own little story on the songs I guess!

yes Spend a Lifetime is a perfect tune!

I don't think there's anything in the pipe for this or for next year. It's obvious that JMQ is no longer Jay primary money source, I guess wheeler dealing makes more earning and the band is not more than a hobby (I think he recently said in a Sun interview that he's buying future classics and selling for double price in 2-3 years) so I think he's not dependant on JMQ any longer.

They could still make small venue gigs like Jazz Cafe with setlists you describe above and pick up some old, never played classics, I can't imagine they didn't get bored of playing Cosmic Girl for the 3000x time. Or releasing sbd recording bootlegs from earlier tours like Metallica did, I would definitely buy those.
