Still gonna wait patiently lol. Because it might not even receive recognition here until years after based on the label they have now.
Really would like for them to work with The Neptunes or Pharrell since it seems every artist eventually has a track produced by them. More of an R&B sound this time around. _________________

Thank you for forwarding the news, Doc !
I don't mean to interpret Paul's tweet as if that was a philosopher's quote with every word wisely chosen, but two things strike me in a negative way as I read this :
"I had a coffee with Jay on Wednesday" --> that seems to mean they meet sometimes, casually. That sounds more like you meet a friend and catch up with things. "Hey, how are you doing?". It rather sound like the band is totally on "pause" and that they don't gather to write/work on things.
Something like "the band had a work session last Wednesday" would sound much more positive to me, a sign that something is actually happening.
"he certainly intends to record a new album next year" --> he "intends" to? What does that mean? Does he have any material written? I can say I intend to marry Beyonce and win the lottery this year (basically, both these wishes are one and the same!), that's not gonna help it happen. To me, "intending to record an album" sounds like there's still a long way to go before they enter the studio and actually record something.
I remember the fuss last summer about (was it Rob's?) quote saying "we're rehearsing a new tune for the shows this summer" which ended up being totally (but understandably) misinterpreted so, once again, I'm just considering those few words from Paul, and I might be wrong. But it seems to me like everyone's doing their own thing outside of Jamiroquai and that "yeah, I'm gonna call you at some point to make a new album"... |

@ Trolll @Doc oh shit!
that definitely sounds like they aren't working on stuff.
and that explains why the band has created a side band, because they need to work.
I assumed they were already in the studio. Of course I really want a new album, but it takes more than just going to work for a band to create.
You never know what's going on in his life. There has to be first, inspiration to go into the studio. I am one to believe that when the inspiration arrives, the time will be made. But you have to be open to receive. And life is cycles, you have to feel down to come up. And sometimes when you have no ideas, the next day you have too many.
But with that said, it is rather boring just talking about a potential album. I mean I assume they need only maybe 3 new songs to redefine a new album, with all the other tunes they have partially recorded. They need to just come here for the inspiration!!
@smellbob and yes, more R&B and keep the brass! |

Knowing Jay's working progress you should rename the thread to 2016 then... |

Maybe...
If we're lucky, we could have the new stuff on autumn/winter 2015.
In case of release in 2016, the new jamiroquai will be the second good news of this years because there will be the final season of Twin Peaks by David Lynch and Mark Frost ! 25 years later !
Jamiroquai plus Twin Peaks... what else except a cup of coffee !! _________________ "People find it's hard to be strong, cos' they don't know where they're coming from" |

Can't say anything about Jamiroquai or Twin Peaks, but, good news, I've been confirmed that, yes, a cup of coffee will indeed be released in 2016! YAY !

I've just heard that The Wu Tang is releasing their new album after 7 years of silence...
Remember, The Wu Tang have been releasing only 6 albums in 25 years....(there was lot of solo albums or collaboration but, it's a pretty few in fine)
Keep faith, it's the normal way for true artists.
Jamiroquai will definatly back in couple of years ! _________________ "People find it's hard to be strong, cos' they don't know where they're coming from" |

Doubt that would ever happen. Ego aside, they don't need Pharrell/The Neptunes to produce quality music. I find it odd that Jay is sticking with the album formula in today's industry - why not release a few singles here and there to keep people interested? Jamiroquai is being left to wither on the vine. His heart doesn't seem to be in it anymore. |

yeah that can happen with anything. But I think he'll be back.
no on the Pharrell thing.
Yes -why not release a tune here or there? Why follow a rigid routine? Maybe the jam session of getting the group together for an "album" brings out some creative juices, but thinking outside the box for singles could work too. |

Hey, I really really like Pharrell and all his work with Neptunes/N*E*R*D. He's known for his pop and rap stuff but he got his alternative funky sound as well. Anyway, I don't think that will ever happen because I think Jay doesn't care about him... and doesn't care about collaborations. M-Beat, Jools Holland? I don't remember any other...

Here's my theory: his heart found a new love (girlfriend), and this is his priority now, because he's 44 and he doesn't want to live alone anymore. All the other guys have family and children and he's missing it in his life.
You know... Sade had a break of 10 years and reappeared with a great album and tour and everything. So there's nothing we can do but wait and wait..... and speculate.
