Why they are not recording at Chillington? Any thought? |

They have been recording at Chillington too, but for some reason they also use different studios. They have done that for RDLS too. |

I keep asking me why. Yeah, they used the Hook End studios for RDLS. |

Hello Jamily!
Exciting times are FINALLY here concerning new Jamiroquai album sessions. So far Derrick has posted 6 studio pictures and Sola 2 studio pictures, I can only guess they are recording their instrumentation for the new Jami Material. Here's a link to the thread with all the pictures from their respective Facebook pages so far on the JAMIROQUAI Subreddit:

Regarding the (non-) use of Chillington, maybe it's not professional enough to record an album? It might be good for rehearsals, recording demos, brainstorming, but not for an actual recording of a major international release?
That's just a wild guess, and I'm definitely not a specialist, but with new equipement and constant evolution, maybe Chillington is not up to expectations anymore (and it's not worth upgrading it, it's just as good to rent another studio for a while) |

Nah, I think Chillington is perfectly capable, but maybe recording instruments somewhere else is a time saver to record different things at the same time, or perhaps the acoustics are better for multiple musicians (like an orchestra). This is actually an interesting question for the bandmembers. |

Yeah! I don't care where they record, just keep recording!
Maybe the studio features a special analog mixer, like the SSL mixing device. These are high-end analog mixers that add to the warmth of sound. It seems the last album they were trying to get away from the digital-rigid sound that corrupts the "live" sound.
Anybody know what they mix on -analog or digital? |

I'm not certain, but i remember of a interview where jay said that they are going back to analog recording for RDLS, as they had done with Synkronized. |
