You are totally out of context in this post.
Do you think no japanese people wants to register in this forum? I think maybe the language is a big wall for a lor of people (like here in Spain for example). _________________

I use the word "Jap" all the time because it's easier to write and for me the faster I write the better I read... (odd I know). But only because of that.. in fact I use a lot of other words like "gr8" which are not even words...
And I must confess I'm a huge admirer of the japanese culture so I would never offend the "japs"
About that vynil...where was that shop JamiroquainPt? I want it, I need it................................. ! _________________ GIGGLES! |

i know when Europeans like you use "Jap", they mean only abbreviation.
but my friend&my dictionary&alot of japanese sites says its very bad meaning when Americans use it. |
this is racist thinking, actually.
come on, that adjective was refered to an item, how can it be intended in a racist way?
trust your common sense more than dictionaries! |
i just understood why some Japanese have never wanted to register on this site. i see.
anyway,
im going to study Chinese for my dear Chinese friend.
now i sincerely think i have to study our real history more and more.
because its so impolite never to understand their delicate feelings.
i learned this thing from here. really thanks all. |
This remember me when I used to live in Brasil.
In my country we ofter use the adjetive 'negro' (black) with our friends and ppl we know, in fact, I call my GF as 'negra', and nobody feels offended about that.
but in brasil, their interpretation of 'negro' is an racists insult, which is totally a lie. but that is how they think about that word.
I think often the ppl who feels offended by a single word is more racists that the ppl who use that word. |

Let me have that question : Are we talking about a Jamiroquai-release, or "just" about racism??? Is it ugly when we use Jap for japanese???... I can´t understand it !?!
And I thought we are here to talk about the Space Cowboy???
...pretty ugly... (no comment)... Sry for that.... _________________

the previous posts talk about racism!
any term that is derogatory or considered a slur is discriminating when spoken against a group, even if you don't realize it!
gook -Asian
wop -Italian
Jap -Japanese
and JAP can also mean "Jewish American Princess" (a coworker used this term all the time who hated waiting on the local over-privileged women)
and never, ever, say the N word |
