After all the shit Jay declared against Sony, that would be amusing! But I always thought Sony made good work with the band. Maybe their efforts decreased on Dynamite (maybe sales expectations were not as high as before, and it was open war between Jay and Sony already!)
Jamirofan, thanks again for hunting high & low for information!

Your all very welcome, I love doing this stuff, expect a new "JamiroFan Talks About" video tomorrow with me discussing this whole rumor/development and some of the little signs I have seen online that could very well 'confirm' this to being POSSIBILY true! But yeah, when I came across this page initially I was facepalming like heck, but hey, time can help heal old wounds, and if the record label options for a new album deal were sparse for JK/Band then yeah, going back to their alma mater label is very possible, not to mention SONY just knows how to 'promote/distribute' their artist's music/albums/single so well. Thanks again everyone for the support and I'm sure we got more and more torrents of new single/album information to come! Cheers! _________________

Going on Brent vibe, i just made some superficial research about Jamiroquai on Sony Music UK.
Apparently they are only listed under the Legacy Recordings, a label which is responsible for reissues and re-releases of Sony's catalog, so it seems that it was either the first step to reintroduce the band on their catalog or just a very huge coincidence. |

I was umming and ahhing about whether to post this..
I had the pleasure of talking to Paul T at a recent Brother Strut gig in the UK. It was quite unexpected tbh because I was a couple of drinks slow (!) and the chap was coming to get a refresher at the bar. It was cool to meet him and I asked about the new jamiroquai album (ofc!)
The reason I didn't want to post this is that it's not obviously the happiest news in the world! Aside from geeking out and telling him.that I want to put together a UK-based tribute band and do small (unfinished iOS covers on soundcloud) -shameless plug.

he said that the new album might not be out until the new year citing record label issue as the reason. Something to do with territory roll-out.
As I say I was uhmming and ahhing about saying it because it's unfortunate news a bit, but better a better album and a wait than a less-tuned album wouldn't ya say?
but I mean again, I'm sure Paul is a busy guy and things in the business side probably change all the time so it could change i guess but that's just what he mentioned so I thought I would pass it along.
All the best folks. |

All is possible. But the release of the 8th jamiroquai album IS GOING TO BE. So it's the main information. Whatever in 2016 or 2017. Sooner could be better but later is not an issue !
Few clues on september maybe ! _________________ "People find it's hard to be strong, cos' they don't know where they're coming from" |

No no no, it can't be! That would ruin all my maths!

Next album is 2016 for sure! It's written in the stars! |

That will ruin Trolll's theory... Sorry François!
But it's unfortunately not surprising... Mid-august and not an official comment about an upcoming release in +/- 2 months...
We're used to it... 🙄 _________________ Max. |

Just so cool that there is new music! After all this time, I truly thought the band was history.
A matter of months away after six years is nothing, at least it's happening right?! |

First off, welcome to JamiroTalk Skillip! Second off, thank you for the update from Paul T, much appreciated, I guess the 8th album release logistics, at least this time on the record label side, will need more time to be sussed out for a better new Jami album rollout. And don't worry about 'shameless plugging' dude, I do it ALL THE TIME here for my JamiroFan YouTube Channel and JAMIROQUAI Subreddit, just as long as it's "Jamiroquai-related" it's not a problem. Whelp, at least we might get a new Jami single before the end of 2016, wishful thinking in full effect.. _________________

yes this is the news! I agree!
I think it's very wise of them to promote their back catalogue!
I remember discovering Hall & Oates' back catalogue...

i think IF paul said then he is only protecting himself against being wrong. again this falls on Jay and his horrible way of connecting with fans outside of albums, and in person |

..or Paul just simply likes to keep fans informed on what he knows at the time or has been privy to have been informed on in the slow progress of the album release window. Nobody is really to be blamed except for when things don't go right, be it on the record label end or in this case, if it is indeed true, just a pre-new album planning logistics issue. To harp on with the narrative that 'JK is out of touch with the fans' when he still does stop what he's doing and poses for an occasional selfie with a fan and/or gives an autograph defeats the purpose of that narrative. Yes, in our ridiculously well connected social media world, we all do sometimes seem to have moments of misinformation/miscommunication/misunderstandings, and given Jamiroquai is currently in the situation of moving to a new/old/indie record label takes alot of time to happen and the habitual malcontent that comes from my fellow fans is completely understandable for the years we wait for a new album to be written/recorded/promoted/released. I'm not saying it's bad to 'vent' but when things are 'repeated', especially online, then it can sour alot of good conversation very quickly, I can atest to this, REDDIT goes through ALOT of these. But anyway, I say just give the band, whatever label they went with and each bandmember the ample of time to get everything worked out, we can all 'speculate' away about Jamiroquai related things, I know I have done my fair share of it, but always try to be on the 'positive', if it appears 'negatively' then make it's discussion very brief, when you start a fire then I can become a forest fire very quickly. _________________
