Hi,
That's cool but I would guess that's most likely due to the inclusion of the word Jamiroquai than automaton. |
No, if that was the case then the word "Automaton" should appear like this ̶A̶u̶t̶o̶m̶a̶t̶o̶n̶ under the result.
They most likely added that word to the search engine, so that when you search for the name of the album, the official site appears. |

if you search "jamiroquai automatically" you get same results. nothing in the source code of jamiroquai.com to indicate automaton |

I see the label is listed as Virgin in that Amazon link. I guess this means they're still with Universal, seeing as Virgin EMI Records is owned by them? RDLS came out on Mercury didn't it?

Virgin EMI Records is Universal's main label in the United Kingdom after Mercury Records UK has been reduced to a local Universal imprint and its artist moved to the new Virgin EMI label.

Yes, RDLS was released under Mercury, and although Virgin is a different label is still essentially Universal, which is a little bit odd, considering that Matt Johnson said that the were not with them anymore. |

If "Automaton" is the album title as usually the album titles reflect the tracks. Like EOPE most of the tracks were on political issues. ROTSC was on marijuana and drugs. TWM was again on drugs and fast cars. Synkronized featured lots of different genres of songs. AFO was very disco and funk centered. Dynamite had a 70s disco theme to it. "Rock Dust Light Star" had an acoustic and rock industrial sound.
I hope that means "Automaton" (if that's the correct album title) will have an electronic jazzy soulful sound, based on the name.

Haven't been on Jamirotalk in a while - and WOW! I am so excited for this album! Automaton sounds like something futuristic, electronic maybe... Probably similar to Synk and AFO... Can't wait!!

Automaton is the best name for the album given the love of cars.
and yes Smellbob, Electronic, Jazzy, Soul, and of course Funk would be cool! |

Don't worry, it's coming. The first info for the album always came from Amazon. I remember Dynamite and RDLS appearing in there for the first time too.
Some of the information might change though. "Your Window is a Crazy Television" appeared in there before we got the official tracklisting, so it might be interesting to see what appears next. |

Yup that "Classic Amazon.com Tradition" you might say! But I was VERY surprised it wasn't first listed on Japanese sales sites, the past Jami album, most notably AFO-Dyna were first indicated there. But I expect an Virgin Records/Band "Automaton" album announcement within the next week, either by Social Media OR E-Mail notifications coinciding with the Newly remodeling Jamiroquai.com official relaunch.
