Oh...my....goodness  I still remember that feeling when my girlfriend somehow got a copy of Dynamite a few weeks early and surprised me with it after picking her up after school one day. She popped it in the CD player and I thought she was just messing with me. But the moment the track Dynamite came on and Jay started singing, I knew it was legit and I couldn't stop smiling the entire drive home. I miss that girl 
Anyway, it really looks like we will be hearing/seeing something soon regarding Automaton or whatever the new album will be called! Exciting times!

I don't know why "Automaton" would suggest jazz / funk / soul. To me, if anything it suggests a more techno / electronic style. I don't think we'll see a return to the more organic, free, rootsy sounding band of old - this new band are all session hacks who wouldn't have the same approach as Jamiroquai mk 1. |

Yeah, on that Instagram photo, one of the hashtags says #electrofunk...although another hashtag does say #jazzfunk. Wonder if it'll be a mixture/balance of things and not just one or the other.

well the intro was definitely more techno/electronic! But I think the entire album will incorporate all those genres. It doesn't matter much to me, I like electronic and all the other genres -especially merged.
That snippet of video is so Jamiroquai, with the electronic vibe and lit headgear! 
But so excited to have the cd will be in my hands soon! Please post when it goes on sale. [/quote]

Thanks to all of you who are always tracking any lead, (despite the crazy stories and fake news we might come across) you bring this fan-base hope and laughter.
I am glad to hear there is a new album, although the title is so-so and the music is AFO all over again, which makes me feel very disappointed, but it's a teaser, not the entire thing. And after all, something is better than nothing, no matter how electronica it sounds.
Good job Brent on finding the other album titles! |
