OMG the clip is so electronic!
I liked it, never thought to see Jay wearing that custom like ironman or something XD _________________ Got my soul education! |

Let's not forget that Feels Just Like It Should also teased a different direction but the album wasn't near close to that particular song.
From a marketing standpoint alone, Automaton and this whole futuristic/experimental thing works perfectly (love when he "finds" the old hat). |

The album title suggests that there will be a focus on modern society's dependence on technology, perhaps to the point that we're losing individuality via constant consumption of popular media. Just a guess. I'd also surmise that there will be some AFO-esque techno-dystopian themes, but even that album had a blend of styles. Anyone expecting a pure 'acid jazz' album is kidding themselves, just like the unrealistic whiners who say 'bring back Toby and Zender.' Not going to happen, but there will likely be stuff using horns etc to touch on the band's classic sound. They almost always deliver some of this.
Looking forward to the album, but hopefully it has the proper production and songwriting edge that RDLS lacked. They need to do something forward thinking to regain the interest of audiences outside of their core fans. The music business is a business and electronic music is big right now. |

The marketing campaign for RDLS has just been obliterated in just one hour. |

I like that elctronic style of the video, but I'd still prefer the old-school horns driven vibe. |

I didn't like it at all. Starting from the album cover up to the music videos (with the exception of Lifeline which was basically High Times Part II).
The Behind The Scenes videos were fine though. |

Well it's a matter of point of view... I think the Daft Punk listened a lot of Jamiroquai stuff over the last few years! 😉
Don't judge that snippet too soon: it sounds like an intro, is just 15 sec long, & remembre that one track does not reflect a full album... I read the same things back in 2010 when we had a snippet of WKR... _________________ Max.

This little trailer looks sooo much more promising then the RDLS-videos were. I think they are taking the promotion and artwork allot more serious this time. Can't wait to see (and hear) more! |
