Yes, the drummer comment was a joke. I'll stand by my "session musicians" comment though!
I'm all for the new album. And I think talking about the current band vs old band is relevant for talking about the new album. If it was the original band, do you think any of them would've been sidelined in any way? Like, I used to hear the tracks with synth bass and wonder, what was the bass player doing that day? Or electronic drums thinking, nothing for Derrick to do?
Saying they are session musicians frees JK up in a way, as he can determine what goes where without bruising anyone's ego. The old band, because they were a band, would be much more vocal about their contributions (and we know this from Stuart saying he left as he wasn't credited for his writing and production contributions).
Anyway. New album, woo hoo! I'm more excited about this than RDLS or even Dynamite. It looks like some money is being spent on the marketing and promo. Good looking video, nice website, teaser trailer. It's certainly making the news - there's forums talking about Jamiroquai that would never be talking about them normally. |

Hmmm, maybe let's not start discussing all this -again-? Or open another thread for this never-ending debate Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but the focus should rather be on the forthcoming album. |
Just make it a drinking game. It's a total win!

The heck? The writer makes it sound like just because she isn't much into Jamiroquai and they don't put out an album every year, the band has been forgotten and is "uncool" and "vintage". Oddly written article that seems to bash the band throughout while at the end saying "It looks like 2017 will be the year people finally start admitting their love for Jamiroquai" as if no one since 1997 has mentioned Jamiroquai as being an influence or a great band. People know who Jamiroquai are. More people than one might initially think. I don't know why I took offense to that article so much, I mean hey...at least it's putting the band's name out there and letting another audience know that the band has a new album releasing. _________________ If it ain't no natural law, then you can keep your regulations. Take a shot when someone mentions how they changed since Stu and Toby left.
Take a shot when someone mentions the EOPE Jamiroquai or the AFO Jamiroquai.
Take a shot when someone mentions how crappy RDLS was.
Take a shot when someone refers to the current lineup as session musicians.
Take an extra shot when someone disses Paul in favor of Stu.
Take a shot when someone tries to uncover the mystery of Jamiroquai's music direction/style.
Take a shot when someone mentions how much Jay changed like he betrayed the Earth and his proactive audience (circa '92) in favor of driving 20 cars.
Perhaps by the time the debate is done, you'll be so drunk that you'll passout and won't wake up till the album is out or it's time for you to go to one of their concerts. |
I'd rather smoke my weed instead haha _________________ At the speed of cheeba, you and I go deeper... |

Malcolm Strachan just wrote this on Rob's FB page:
"Good luck with the album and tours Rob. Looking forward to hearing it!"
So no horns? Or just different musicians? |

Maybe he's just busy with his band, The Haggis Horns. They are on tour according to their website. _________________
