I'm presuming we're going to have a very diverse album, but what is concerning the most is about the mastering quality!!! I really wish it to be good, like back in the old days. |
Apparently it was mastered at Precise. If you wanna know how it *might* sound, check the latest from Justice, "Woman", it was mastered there too. |
Just did, well the Woman album is loud really loud and very compressed... It might mean something but also might mean nothing, so let's see how this one will be, and also an opportunity to check if Jay has any input on that. _________________ At the speed of cheeba, you and I go deeper... |

Right. Also, most of the music in that album are not real instruments, so who knows. But, it might give us an idea.
If you put on your headphones during those 22 seconds of Automaton, I got a Twenty Zero One, Feel So Good vibe. |

I'm reminded of Electric Mistress & She's A Fast Persuader mixed with Twenty Zero One when listening to the 22 second clip on headphones. _________________

Just hope some announcement soon and first single, can't wait anymore!
Also, with the hype they started i don't think they can keep that until March 31st. |

Most albums these days are super compressed and loud. I wouldn't expect this to be any different, especially if they want radio play. White Knuckle Ride is noticeably louder than FJLIS, and so on. The safest prediction is that they went for glitzier, brighter, more consistent mixing & mastering this time rather than the scattered, often amateurish approach taken on RDLS. TCDT sounds like something that was recorded quiet then boosted later, and Smile has clipping & line level distortion issues, particularly on the Rhodes! |

Ok WKR is definitely loud, but i don't think RDLS have bad mixing/mastering, look at Smoke And Mirrors, it's very clear and although it sounds a bit loud, it still sounds good. Also i don't think Smile was finished, it sound like a demo to me, much like the demo of Space Cowboy. But that's just my opinion. |

I agree on TCDT. It sounds horrible.
But Smile wasn't even released properly, it was released through Soundcloud, which was just a "free download" thing without proper quality. |

Lol: iTunes search for Automaton gives us some Mathew Jonson track. Nothing interesting, even release date is of 2015 year. Intrigues for the first time, I should say still.
