His name is Jean-Paul Heck. His overall impression: more electronica, influenced by Daft Punk and new wave-artist Gary Numan and more emphasis on late 60s soul. |

Anyone else spotted the supporting keyboard player beside Matt Johnson? |
Matt sent some info about the new guy in the band on his facebook fan page. |

It's a bit tricky, but for Amazon France, the listing you point to is shown as Automaton vinyl SINGLE! (released on March 24, indeed).
There's another page for Automaton ALBUM 2xLP, still listed for release on March 31st
Vinyl single
Vinyl 2xLP album
(Note the slightly different covers, as noticed earlier in this topic)
[EDIT: searching a bit further with the ASIN codes, it's not clear at all. That "vinyl single" on Amazon FR website is listed as "unavailable", and some other websites do list it as the 2xLP... So I'm really not sure (and we haven't heard of a 12" single for Automaton either...)] |

Edit: Redundant info about pangolins, deleted it lol.
WARNING: only click the image below if you want to read the lyrics for
Shake It On
Automaton
Cloud 9
Superfresh
Hot Property
Something About You
Once you click on the image and it opens, right-click the opened image and choose "Open Image In New Tab" so that it goes to its original, larger size.

So I mentioned this in the album artwork thread but I found a large version of the album liner and it states that Pangolin was going to be the album's original name. According to Wikipedia: Pangolins have large, protective keratin scales covering their skin; they are the only known mammals with this adaptation.
|
In the article I posted above, it says the Automaton hat was based on the Pangolin shell/scales. |

So if we would like to make Jay happy (because I think it was Universal's decision to call the album Automaton) we will be using Pangolin as the name of the album instead of Automaton, right? |

I actually really like Pangolin as album title. It ties with subjects introduced in Emergency on Planet Earth. Although it probably doesn't make much sense since I don't think it has any ties, lyrically, with the album. |

I expect lots of reviews will be popping up now but just found another one here (in german):

Google translate did a terrible job so any thoughts from German speakers appreciated! |
