Yeap, that's right! And as Diego said; 'Dynamite' in spanish does not sound so good...
Dinamita, it seems to be the coyote and the road runner!!!
Poor coyote trying to kill the roadrunner with 'DYNAMITE' and he can't...

what if the title really isnt that bad, but we are all really bored and projecting that negativity unto the name of the album... maybe the word dynamite will take on more depth with lyrics and artwork to decode it. And who says the name dynamite couldnt be a statement of the times? These days when I think of explosives sadly wiley coyete doesnt come to mind first. (U2 did just put out an album called "how to dismantle an atomic bomb")

Hello again,
Couldn't agree more, Mandy. The fact is that 'How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb' sounds sophisticated. But that doesn't mean is good, it could be a horrible song/ album (coming from U2 is doubtful).
As I said before, maybe the album is coming again to political issues. We had of that on AFO (Black Crow was about the Kosovo War, and I think it did really good), and 'Dynamite' sounds simple, yes, but behind that name there are a lot of things (bombs, wars, etc).
OK. That's it. I'll stop posting about the album title, I'm tired of it
I just want to have the 'whatever-they-want-to-name-it' album in my hands,
and then listen to it
'Won't you let me take a little ride with you?'

Here is what I posted in another part of this forum on the subject of the album title.
| Quote: |
Given Jay's love for all things funky, the title doesn't surprise me. Why? Well, Dynamite or rather "Dy-no-myte" as it was spelled then was a popular "slang term" in the 1970's; it simply meant - Dy-no-mite! - Great, excellent. It was made popular by the tv show Good Times.
This could be a good sign that they are returning to their funky roots since the hey day of funk was in the late 60's through the 70's. |
Interesting to note are some other phrases that originated with that era:
"Right On" - Agreement, accepting something.
"Outta Sight" - Very cool (Jay used this phrase in Goin to a Funktion)
"Far Out" - Way cool
"Bummer" - A depressing, negative event or thing
"Boogie" - To dance or move quickly
"Neat" - Excellent, great (same as Dynomyte!)
"Jive Turkey" - A detestable person
Just a little bit of trivia for you to cheer you up about the possible title.
Didn't "Space Cowboy" also orginate in the 70's
Anyway, I'm not concerned about the content of the new Cd. I'm sure that with such a long break It will be Far Out . |

I still think you guys are reading too much into the stupid name of an album. I rate my albums based on the content of them, not the names pf the songs or the album itself. Im sure you guys all own albums where the name you think either sucks, or it means nothing to you, but the reason you own the album is because you like the music.
Rate this album based on the music inside it, not the name itself.
One thing though: eventhough Jay has mentioned it in a magazine, we still haven't heard anything officially. He might have said that to throw us off, or he might change his mind. Maybe he's telling the truth, but Il'l wait until I see some Sony Publicity on it before I'll consider the name finalized. _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like... To walk the sunny avenues of life? |

maybe we shouldn't assume this article is correct
there is every chance that the journalist writing the article didn't get an official name for the album from jay and only knew there was one coming out...they would have decided to do some research and the only title they would have found mention of is 'dynamite' - so thats what they wrote...
dynamite could just be a working title, many films and albums are developed/recorded under different/unfinished names and then changed before release
does anybody have a transcript of the article? does it mention where the information about the title comes from? _________________ Have to get UP to get DOWN

Just My 2 cents
My opinion is I really don't care what the title of the new album is going to be. My only concern that it actually comes out. The title could be "Dog Crap" and I would still buy it because it's music that counts to me not the title of the album....again sorry just had to put my two cents in _________________ I used to worry about the future
But then I threw my caution to the wind.....

Hold on
Um...I'm sorry but I don't think this article confirms the title more than anything else we've heard lately _________________

OK, I can appreciate that its nice to have a catchy album title but just a thought... You hear a GREAT song either on the radio/tv/web etc etc & you're hooked. Then you learn the album it appears on has a very unimpressive title. Are you really going to write off the song you love & not buy the album becuase of the title? All I can say is I wouldn't... And I'm glad I don't because I've discovered some pretty unusual stuff... |

Man, I wouldn't care if they called it "The Sixth Album", I'm still going to buy it. BTW, I never really introduced myself in prior posts and don't want to be a big stranger. The name is Joel and live in the Corner of the US (Washington) and have dug Jamiroquai for many a year. Other than that I play trumpet proffesionally and want to start a pop funk band like JK. Anyways, the new album is going to rock either way and I'm sure Jay has something up his sleeve when it comes to the name. We must be patient... |

Ouch, I don't mean to offend anyone but I sure hope that's not the case with the new album.
I agree with everyone else, let the music speak for itself!

maybe it's for the big plug in Napoleon Dynamite or just the phrase "Dyna-mite!!" like on that show Good Times (?) Anyways,a title is a title. I don't think it's a bad title or a good one. I'm not going to base it on what the whole album may be like. Just because they've had interesting titles before, this album may be just as good, and I hope even better! Just waiting for it to come out. |
Yea, I was giddy when I saw Napolean groovin' to CANNED HEAT in that awesome movie of his same name!!!!!!

Amen to that brother!!! Dyna-Mite, I think falls into the tradition of Jamiroquai giving props to the defining music era of the 70s that inspired them. _________________ IT'S A PLANETARY....GOOD VIBE ZONE.....

I don't like this title "Dinamite" doesn't sound like Jamiroquai album.
It's too simple not original at all |
