I guess it's time to introduce myself...
Well, my name is Alberto, I'm from Peru and I've been listening to Jamiroquai since 1999.... I'm 17 years old and I still live with my parents but I guess not for long cause my family is leaving next year to live in the US and I'm staying here cause I'm already at uni studying Law and when I finish with that I will apply to the Diplomatic Academy... by then I should be... 26 or sthg... mmm... what else?.... Love to play music... play guitar and sing in a band... we play a mixture of funk, rock, bolero, jazz, bossa nova, and ... ...´pretty much everything hehe... but more than playing live what I like is composing songs... those moments when I sit in the floor with my guitar , the keyboards and the computer and I start writing... it's a great feeling... I just hope someday my songs will be heard by ppl all around the world... haha... I suppose that's too much to ask... _________________ We're going to a funktion yeah yeah yeah |

I'm february 24th... so I'm just a few days older hehe. I haven't heard about Los Amigos Invisibles but I'll search the net... I also like Salsa but the old ones... I mean the ones from Hector Lavoe, Ruben Blades and all those masters of music... u know here in Peru salsa is one of the most popular types of music (if not the most) so there's not too mucho ppl who like funk, jazz and all that
Hay un grupo peruano que se llama "La Roja" y tambien tocan buen funk, talvez te podria gustar... _________________ We're going to a funktion yeah yeah yeah |

I really love music, I mainly listen to my ipod because I haven't heard anything good on the radio for a time. I've been a jamirofan for maybe 6-7 years now and going strong. I'm really into funk, soul, and r and b right now, but I love all music (escept country!). Some of my fav artists besides Jamiroquai are Nikka Costa, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Louis Armstrong, D'Angelo, Musiq, Stevie Wonder, Jackson 5, Justin Timberlake, Thicke, Cypress Hill, John Mayer, Rockapella, and many many more. |

Well I suppose I should properly introduce myself since I haven't done so yet
My name is Kevin and I'm from East Providence, Rhode Island USA. I'm a music fanatic. In my early 20's I was a spot DJ for The Roxy (Boston, MA), resident DJ(Friday Nights) for Mercury Bar (Now the Gypsy Bar, Boston, MA) and spot DJ for Il Panino (3rd Floor, Boston, MA) then I had my own website on MSN called "The Rock Music Critic" in which I did reviews of new cds and interviews with local rock bands (both big and small) some notables we're Reveille, Nonpoint, T*House of the Almighty and Powderburnt (lead guitarist was the original Lead for Godsmack on their first album)
But all my side projects had to be put aside due to having a family. Which I do not regret in the least. I was also in the US Navy for 3 years. Did my 6 month Deployment on the USS Roosevelt (Aircraft Carrier) back in 1993. I was a Sea and Air Rescue Swimmer (SAR) among other job titles while I was in (Master Helmsman, Rig Captain, Damage Control Petty Officer....etc). I did a brief stint on the French Aircraft carrier Clemenceau, USS Arleigh Burke(destroyer) and USS Constitution(The oldest commissioned US Naval ship)
I have three step children (Ali, Sunny, and Lucky) and 1 daughter (Mackendry) as most of you know...got married yestersday. I'm now currently working for a military contractor (General Dynamics) building telecom and missle guidence systems.
I shoots darts, write, read fantasy novels (i.e. Dragonlance Chronicles)and chase after my children in my spare time.
Well that just about sums me up. _________________ I used to worry about the future

Hi funkers in Jamirotalk, I finally managed to write my first message here! Because of my lazyness I've mostly visited only jtalk to see what's going on around Jamiroquai, but because that forum and the whole official site has been deserted for some time now (and I don't think this comes to a suprise for anyone!) I decided to follow Little H's example and pay more attention to this forum!
Being a newbie to this site, I think it would be proper to introduce myself as most of you may not know me: I'm Lotta from Finland and I'm 19 years old. I finished highschool in October 04 and now waiting for next year when I can apply to Uni to study art history (I'm not a fan of studying but no work and no school makes one go grazy!).
In the beginning of next year I'm moving to Strassbourg, France for six months or so. I'm quite excited about the trip and hopefully it's going to be a smashing 1/2 year. I've been pretty bored after highschool so this sudden change of area is truly a nice happening!
Then a quick word for the webmasters: although I haven't posted here before, I've visited this site few times and compared to jtalk this forum is just super! _________________ Curiosity killed the cat, but for a while I was a suspect. |
