it would be great for the people who pay for the films to have JK as bond. he can make the music (bond misteriousity with a touch of funk) and bring his own cars. they'd save a fortune!!!  |

In my opinion Jay would have been a much better Bond !
But I think Jay isn´t into acting.
He wants to stick to his music ( and cars ).I remember him saying something like that in an interview a few years ago.
What a pity.Because he´s got the looks to do it. |

No matter how dashing 'Sir' JK is, it would take him an eternity to work on those elocution lessons to the play the role of 007.
Cameo appearance would be fun !!!
But a filming schedule of the sort of a Bond film would surely test the character of 'Sir' JK. OK, OK, I won't condemn his discipline straight off, he did very well after all staying squeaky clean for the making of the new album.
And I am so glad that his traffic offence conviction was just a speeding ( and not that excessive either), it would have been a horror story if he had been under the influence !!! Thank God and the Medicine Man for that !!!
For the character of 007, I found him an excellent choice, he's got it all !!! Except the oral part, or he could sing his lines ??? If he could sing his lines that would lose his 'Michael Caine' accent. |

What do you mean by " Michael Caine accent" ??
Jay has a normal London accent.Or do you expect him to talk like the Queen ?Wouldn´t that sound a little bit poshy ?
I don´t think Jay´s accent is that strong anyway.Or is it ?
I mean,I´m not a native speaker.I´m from Germany and in German you can hear where someone is from.We have accents here,that sound somehow funny ( for example in Hamburg ).
Other German accents are considered a bit " vulgar".( For example the way people speak in Cologne ).
Others simply sound horrible ( for example the accent used in Sachsen or Hessen ).
But of course that´s just the way most Germans see it.( So no offence if anyone from Sachsen or Hessen is here ! )
But in Germany accents are mainly spoken by older people.
And on the countryside.
Young people and people in the big cities speak
"Hochdeutsch "( Must be the equivalent to "Oxfordenglish",I guess )
So now my question to all you native speakers out there : How strong is Jay´s London accent ? Very strong ? Maybe that´s the reason why I have my difficulties in understanding him and the boys in interviews.
And by the way : What exactly are the typical characteristics of a London accent ? |

I also heard a rumor going around that Colin Farrell maybe offered the role (Hmmmm....two Irishman in a row)

The best bond is Pierce Brosnan... the best movies were with him on them... thats the case of Goldeneye 007...

yer Goldeneye is an excellent movie (well as a Bond one anyway), but the last 2 were pissweak. crap storylines. only pierce brosnan shone out of it (and maybe halle berry).
back to jay...
methinks that jay wouldn't be a good bond actor because he'd be too busy wanting dear Denise Van Outen as a Bond girl.  |

Michael Caine is a Cockney actor who became famous for retaining his Cockney accent throughout his career, and not having it 'cleaned' up for his profession. One of his early films and the one that I believe launched his career was the original 'Alfie'.
"Sir" JK has the most delightfully eloquated voice when he sings, except for when he occasionly drops an American accent (I forget which songs at the moment, but I will inform you later). His naughty school boy character is not only decipherably from his behaviour, his spoken voice depicts him accurately. To me his spoken voice is natural, endearing and ethnicly (Cockney) charming.
I love to hear Cockney accents, when I speak with my high school friends we quickly and easily drift into cockney accents, but in reality I have a middle class accent.
If you would like to try some heavy Cockney accents, try the film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (starring Vinney Jones ((who recently sold "Sir" JK his Cadillac)) and Sting). That film was allegedly in the English Language and has English language subtitle at the same time. It's an excellent film, great story, good comedy and stunning actors and showcases the art of Rhyme and Slang. R&S is the Cockney method of joining words that rhyme to represent another with no necessity for correlation.
I am proud of my Cockney accent, and I am pleased that "Sir" JK is proud of his too. Cocknies are traditional those people born within earshot of the Church Bells of Bow in East London, Cocknies have their own cuisine, culture and identity famous as Pearly Kings & Queens.
To have a go at the Cockney accent, try not to pronounce the consonants at the end of words and over pronounce the 'A's, replace the 'th's with a 'v', and intermittently alternative between the adjectives of bloody and bleeding. The suffixes of verbs -ing is chopped off to -in.
Alright mate !!! (Traditional Cockney meeting and parting greeting).

Gabbing is the generalized English slang for speaking quickly, and your gob is your mouth, and you gab with your gob. But if you gob with your gob that means to spit !!!
My mother comes from Northern Ireland and nearly every village there has their own accent and idiosyncracies. Yes, I said village, not county or region.
My step son has a PhD in phonetics and his thesis was in the native accents of the bedouin population of the City of Taif, KSA. He now is head of the foreign languages department at King Saud University in Riyadh.
ja, ja, ja, (copyright Mariana Stabile  ))) ) When I speak Arabic, I speak with a central penninsula accent, and I am a south-west coast resident. That's a bit like an Australian in America !!!
Thank God everybody understands what the hell I am talking about here !!!  !!! Because here we all speak Jamiroquaish of course !!! And the ethnic accent for that language is funky !!!

Hahaha, good topic Mtey!
I can't imagine James bond dancing of singin' Little L, while he's in rescue for a woman or carrying some gun. Really Jay doesn't seems to be a great spy or a star secret agent.

If "Sir" JK did land the role, he would come complete with his own set of Bond girls (and boys) and wouldn't it be lovely to have Rob (008), Sola (009), Derrick (010), Matt (011) and newbie (012), Juliequai (014) !!! Imagine "Sir" JK dazzling the baddies into handcuffs with a display of funked floor moves that would dizzy them into submittance !!!
And with a peace / piece initiative the silhouette would show the slender hipped hero with this arms crossed across his upper torso (tore - so - instructions) with a microphone instead of a ballistic weapon (gun) - well sound waves could be described and answer the description of a ballistic weapon too !!!
. . . and as his agent, I can gladly say that I have already signed the deal on "Sir" JK's behalf !!! Another good day's work done !!!
