He has just sent me 4 samples from the forth coming Leroy album. These will be put up on www.stuartzender.co.uk 1 by 1 over the coming weeks!!!
This is far from Jamiroquai, and personally I love the sound of the band! But you guys also have to wait for the other samples
First sample here:

This has a great feel to it. It's truly different, and I keep thinking of a sound cross between Lenny Kravitz in the '5' era and some of the moodier garage rock bands of the moment (Interpol comes to mind). Stuart and his group have done well, and I'm am VERY interested in what else they've got. Also it's pretty neat to hear Stu on the vocal track. Will he be handling the main vocals for the rest of the album? Thanks, Simon, keep us posted. _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. The main vocals on all tracks are done by Stu and Jonah.
You will find out more about this when more samples go up! _________________ Bass Transcriptions coming soon! |

Hello,
(Listens to Leroy Samples and thinks, "WOW! I can now see why Leonardo Dicaprio loved them and endorsed them so much!")
Happy New Year 2005 greetings to all my sisters and brothers in the Jamily, hope you all had a great time & drank responsiblily . Anyway, to the topic at hand, I must say, having heard the early days of AZUR, I was really excited to hear about the New Stu Leroy project, and after listening to the first "Reach" Mp3 sample, I am REALLY impressed ! Stu and Jonah have really outdone themselves, vocal and soundwise, AZUR to a higher music level...( Though I get a "Linkin Park" feeling in my gut when I hear the vocal echoes 2/3 through the sample .) Thanks to Simon for sharing this new MP3, I HIGHLY look forward to future MP3 samples ! Bright times are REALLY ahead for everyone, Stu and Jamiroquai alike ! Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________

You hear that "Linkin Park" sound too? _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. Otherwise, I have to be honest, I can see a situation where...there is a possibility that you become lost in the annals of acid jazz history." -- Jason Kay |

You weren't kidding about the differences between samples, Simon. This is what I like to call a "crunchy" track. It's a lot faster than I thought it would be in terms of pace and beats. The guitars are cutting and Stu and Jonah are playing off each other well. Keep 'em comin and thanks! _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. WOW! I absolutely love 'Into The Sun'!!
I'm so excited about this, Stu deserves a release, he's a very talented musician, and I can only pray that this album gets mastered and released as soon as possible. I certainly hope that this doesn't go down the same path as AZUR...
Thank you Mr. DeCaprio! _________________

Just uploaded the 3rd Leroy sample 'Run'. The track features Gary Novak on drums who has played with the likes of Herbie Hancock and Chic Corea to name but 2!!
This track is a little 'Coldplay'-esque and shows the variety and versatility of the bands overall sound!

Hello again,
Whoa, those 2 current Leroy samples are very good, continue to impress me ! "Into the Sun" is very "Sly & the Family Stone" with a little murmur of the past yonder Jam song "Light Years". Then "Run" is as noted by Simon...EXTREMELY Coldplayish...I just bet you Stu was wearing a "Make Trade Fair" T-Shirt when he played this! Massive thanks to Simon for continuing to relay the new Leroy vibes our way, can't wait for the 4th final one ! Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,

Trippy tune....can't wait for the last one, either! _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does.
