WHATS GOING ON!
I can't believe we still have no confirmation of when the album is coming out! Despite the band members saying "There will be a lot more news from us in the coming weeks" ( it was along those lines, and i think it was Derrick Mckenzie who said it).
Was also thinking, i hope they don't put any instrumentals in, or at least not more then 2! I'd rather they just packed the album with funky tunes.
Black Devil Car rules!! ............well at least the 30 sec clip that ive got does. I have it on repeat on my ipod
Also was wondering if any one had heard any rumours about what some of the other songs might be about. Was reading a post and someone mentioned a song about his drivers liesence ( What how he nearly lost it for doing 105 mph!)
soooooooooooooooooooo i'll leave it at that me thinks! _________________ I never know what to do 'til im there with you... |

Yeah I agree with you Catman..
Jamiroquai have always been very good in making instrumental tracks : Bullet, Space Clav, Music of the Mind, Didjital Vibrations, Wolf in sheeps clothing, etc (forgive me if I forgot some) they are such lovely and very original tracks.
Be patient GoodVibeZone, I think by now it's the main quality of a Jamiro-fan ! _________________

They planned Main Vein to be an instrumental track on AFO (Main Vein is instrumental on the Test Pressing Edition of AFO). And about Black Devil Car: it isn't sure it will be on the next album. |

Yes. Instrumentals rule And they also show respect to other bandmembers playing with Jay not all the time on the front seat if you know what I mean!
I think we are very very close now.. some days, maybe a week and then we know something. _________________ kite carrier (geuze)

You have to hear the instrumental version of Main Vein. It's really good! |

Instrumentals are hit and miss for me! Morning Glory, Music of the Mind, both great, Journey to Arnhemland and Destitue Illusions I always skip though Although it would be a great shame for the new album not to have at least ONE instrumental |

I love most of the instrumentals, but I don't think they're quite as fulfilling as tracks with lyrics. I would've liked to hear Slipin' N Slidin' with lyrics in the studio, and of course you can hear Jay faintly singing in the background for BULLET. Wonder what that would've sounded like. |

Yes you're right !
Finally, the main problem is not to know if there will be some instrumentals tracks, but only if there will be some REALLY SMOOTH FUNKY tracks !!!
The best structure of a good Jamiroquai song for me would be like Just another story... With different parts, different rythms, interludes, intros and outros, etc...
THE MUSIC IS NOT ONLY MADE OF CHORUS AND VERSES !!! WE HAVE TO KEEP THIS IN MIND ! _________________

unless you think that the Jay Kay is a wind instrument, then Morning Glory IS NOT AN INSTRUMENTAL .
I love instrumentals. |
