Help me with my account!
Sorry I've just got around to writing this, but when I changed my password a few weeks back it stopped letting me log in until I "contacted the forum administrator", so this is the only way I could think how. Please re-activate my account!
If you need any confirmation that I am who I say I am, don't heitate to ask
Thanks. |

Hi there,
I saw from your IP that you are the right "Moonshooter", so I don't need any confirmation!
I reactivated your account. It should work now, although I don't know what the problem was/is?
What exactly have you done? You have ordered a new password? And then? I am asking this, because maybe there is a bug or something.
When your account works again, we can switch to private message, in order to speak on. Thanks!

i am having the same trouble as MoonShooter.
here's what happened to me:
i go to change my email contact, and it does it, and redirects me back to the index, but has logged me out.
i go to login, then it redirects me to the single page to login (here), and when i put in my password, it just redirects me back to the login page. then i click "forgot passsword" link, and i key in my username and email, then it says "ur account is inactive. contact the admin" thing.
it must be a bug. upgrade time here we come. |

I've changed something in my account two days ago and nothing weird happened. When I changed mail I got link in mailbox with which I reactivated account.
You say when you change anything in profile... I don't know about the rest but I know that happens when you change email. Safety precautions.
So, that's not bug to sum up |

note i said email or password. obviously when you change your signature no de-activation happens. |

yeah, by others I didn't mean signature and stuff like that. I meant username (if possible) and passwords which I haven't tried before. I was only sure for email.
Well, at least we got that sorted out |

I have never noticed this in the past. That must have come with one of the forum software updates we are doing from time to time, for security reasons.
A few hours ago, Miran has again updated the forum software with the newest update...
For more information about the software you can have a look at www.phpbb.com ....or I could even ask Miran. He should have a deeper insight into that kind of stuff

AH.. I know! It's easy to explain. Don't know why this came to my mind only just now, and not earlier.
PietroChocko, imagine there is a new user registrating at Jamirotalk. He can only do this with a working email adress, because after the registration he will get a mail with a link which is necessary to verify.
After that he is going into his profile and tries to change his email adress to a false or not working one. If this would succeed, he wasn't tangible anymore and not reachable for the admin/moderators. In order to avoid this, the system wants to verify your changed email information and sends an email to the new adress. If it IS your true adress, you can easily confirm it by clicking on the link and there you go!
It's just a question of security and verification.
Hope this is clear now.
When there are problems in the future, please send me an email at
CosmicMouse@jamirotalk.net . It's easier for me to compare the email adress with your account at Jamirotalk. Thanks!

that happens cos the script of the forum was maded like that... this are the common PHPbb forums and all work the same... admins doesn't hav the fault for that... _________________ This is FunkEducation, supporting the 1992-1998 Jamiroquai!!
