SOLA'S MAIL
i sent sola akingbola a mail asking him about the album, and he RESPONDED!!!
they are still looking for a bassist!!
well see it for youself....
MY MESSAGE:
hey sola,i love your work!you are the man!!
i bought every cd of jamiroquai, and you sound much much better live,Live in
verona and montreaux 95,and 2003 are pure perfection;
so i was wondering what is going on with the band??
the title "dynamite"?
what does that mean?that it will be rocky..??in which dirrection is the sound going?
please enlighten me with some news about the forthcoming ALBUM..
SOLA´S ANSWER:
Thanks Ivan
For your words of encouragement.
At last we have finished the album!Due for release in May.We have started rehearsing up at JK's studio. We are still, can you believe it looking for that killer bass player to fill in the missing groove. We will find him/her I'm sure.
The word 'Dynamite' means explosive. Will this album explode onto the music scene?
Whatever happens,we the band are ready to play and play hard!
So watch out!
See you on tour

that would be sweet!
let's see, so nick left in September 2003...18 months ago...and still no replacement. oh well, at least this way we get the album sooner. i bet J didn't want any complications if a newbie decided to split in the middle of recording.
Sola is so consistently awesome _________________ i left my funk in san francisco

o.k i got another mail from Sola and the main thing is that "cannabliss" will not be on the album, and STILL NO BASSIST;here is the mail:
Hi Ivan,
Were you at the Gizmondo gig?
We had a great time,i really enjoyed listening to Sting! He's a great musician/artist,who has managed to maintain a healthy long career in music.Wow! I hope we can do the same.
No,we still haven't settled on a bassist, but there are a few in the reckoning.Unfortunately, no Cannabliss!! which is a shame! I have no say in the naming of the songs, most of what you listed will be on the album. So get ready to rooolllll.
See you on tour Dude

yes he wrote
Hey it worked, nice!
I asked him about his solo during the japan 99 tour, he told me about the solo's meaning which I already knew but wanted him to clarify it for me, also I asked him about coming to México or latin america (or even the US) and this is what he said:
"We should be heading your way at some point in the New Year or possibly at the end of this year.
All the best, hope you enjoy the album.
Sola "

It seems you are hehehe I sent him a mail 3 weeks ago asking if there was the chance that they would come to latinamerica and he said yes... he even mentioned Alex Acuña as one of his early influences and that's great cause Alex is one of the biggest peruvian musicians _________________ We're going to a funktion yeah yeah yeah |

I salute Sola's noble respect for the Jamirofan-base.
He is sincere and personable, and I admire him for having some time and effort to respond to us.
And he has the vision to consider a female applicant for the post of bassist. (But Mr. Paul Turner would not look good in a waist length platinum blonde wig, will someone please inform "Sir" JK of that).
Could you imagine "Sir" JK being left alone to conduct the bassist's interview with a female applicant ??? He would ask such insinuating, ambiguous questions and would'nt be able to contain his chuckling while doing so. I could list the questions for you, but out of respect for the decency laws which rule supreme and effectively here, I will not.
I am going to start making placards with appreciative slogans on them which I will be distributing FREE at the entrances to the Dynamite Tour concerts, Jamily Tribe members will have priority and preferance of receipt first - put your orders in now - ha_meem_jeem@hotmail.com
SOLA !!! SOLA !!! SOLA !!! Bl**dy nice bloke !!!
