Favorite Track On Synkronized
Yep its time for a new poll.
This weeks its - What is your favorite track on Jamiroquai's 4th album Synkornized.
I personally think this is the worst album.
Although ballads like Falling and Butterfly will appeal to many I feel they don't come close to slower Jamiroquai songs like Too Young to Die, Morning Glory and Everyday.
Where do we go we go from here and Soul Education are the album highlights. (although does anyone think Funktion and Sould Education sound the same?)
Supersonic is not a jamiroquai song at all.
But we all have our own opinions.
So get voting and if you can leave a reply saying what and why you voted for a particular song.
And keep on Funkin!

well, i don´t think it´s the worst album, not the best , but it isn´t worst.. it was different.. something new... like for a day... which i really like... espacially the video was great..and supersonic... of course...very experimetal... . but i also like butterlfly and my son 5 years old loves -.-- he really loves canned heat.... i listen to it since i bought the album, which is about a year ago... i can hear this song which i can´t spell out anymore usually 5 times a day..... i love jamiroquai... but that´s to much... he loves the great video... as he first saw it he tried to dance like jay (yes, about tables and chairs...) very funny.....
and the deeper underground sound was somthing new too... love it...
ok for what do i vote..... i think i can´t.... sorry... to hard to choose one out... _________________

I agree with Spacevinny, I think this is the worst album of Jamiroquai. Not that it's al bad, but it could be better.

well, two of my all-time-favorite-songs are from this "so-called" worst album, so i can't agree with you at all.
there is nothing better than deeper underground - ever!
when i am in a good mood, i like the guitar-riffs (even better when rob plays them live!!!!)
when i am in an angry mood, i like the power of the song.
when i am in a sad mood i like the lyrics and the message of the song (i often feel like i wanna go deeper myself and hide from the f**king rest of the world)
and canned heat just simple ROCKS :firejump:
anyway, this thread should be in "music" so don't be surprised. i will move it there... _________________ Dear Auntie Em. Hate you, hate Kansas, took the dog. Dorothy. x |

I voted for Supersonic
Why is Supersonic no Jamiroquai song??
The composing is the best I've ever heard at any song, and Deeper Underground was the first #1 track by J and it has a very good vipe. Planet Home is like bullet. first depressing, then it releases the pressure and opens the "Planet Home"...
I mean the whole album is like the opposite of The Return of the Space Cowboy album. TROTSC is a album with happy sounds. Synkronized is dark and hypnotic. (who said this in the jtalk foum? thanks, anyway) |

Synkronized: Jamiroquai's Black eye!
Hello everyone, :jay2:
I highly agree with everyone, "Synkronized" was Jamiroquai's worst and most rushed album, but the album did have it's bright spots. Well....actually had two bright spots: 1. The videos for "Synkronized" were exceptional (Especially the videos for "Black Capricorn Day", and "Supersonic"!) and 2. the tracks "Canned Heat", "Black Capricorn Day" and "Supersonic" raised the bar on great dance music, with a bit more boogie action. As for the rest of album, they play but they don't fit, the two ballads "Butterfly" and "Falling" are beautiful but fall short of being classic! Oh, I picked "Supersonic" as for my fav track, as mentioned before, it was very experimental, could count as the "Twenty Zero One" of the album. It can also be said that "Supersonic" was the last Jam song to feature the impeccable Didgeridoo of Wallace, I really miss it, the didgeridoo that is! To sum up, a album with many flaws but still made us dance! Thanks for listening and keep up the great work CosmicMouse & Bear! Peace!
Sincerely,
~JamiroFan2000~ |

...you really want me to decide for ONE favorite song?!
Hm. First of all: for me there is definitely no worst album of Jamiroquai. They are all different but I can't make a hierarchy. I love them all because every album contains highlights and also songs I skip when I am not in the mood for hearing them.
Let's speak about some songs on Synkronized:
The best dance track ever for me is Canned Heat
Planet Home and Soul Education are two of the best songs of that album in my opinion but I also couldn't live without Where do we go from here - it's so funky!
I really like King for a day especially since I learnd to play the piano parts! (long live TOBY!!!)
When I heard Supersonic for the first time I couldn't really get used to it. It was so different and unusual, so I skiped it most of the time. But then I accidentally heard it very loud with headphones and from that minute it became one of my favorits! When I am alone at home I play it extremly loud and dance until my heals are burning It's a feeling like I am high or in trance!!! Undescribable!
The album version of Deeper Underground is good, too, but I prefer to hear that song live!
The two songs I hear not so often are Black Capricorn Day and Destitute Illusions - what doesn't mean that I don't like them. I don't know why.
Last but not least there are the ballads Falling and Butterfly which I love to hear when I am not in a dance mood.
My vote today goes to FALLING.
Ask me in a month and I will be confused again! :baeh:

Spacevinny and Supersonic
lol, Spacevinny that's not very nice! My favorit track is Supersonic! Do it like ComsicMouse, listen to it loud with earphones, and try to listen to the instruments, not Jay's voice. it's really like a trance!
I started likeing this song, after i saw the video. in the video you see different colours playing every single instrument of the song. after that it was like I "understood" the song |

Best song on this album has to be King For A Day. The orchestration on it is top notch with piano, harpsichord and strings - just wonderful. Got to mention Black Capricorn Day, as this is a vastly underrated track.
I think people are a bit harsh on this album. I'll give you an example: my brother is a massive Jamiroquai fan, he was into them years before I was. I managed to get a copy of Synkronized on MiniDisc from a mate for him to listen to - he hated it! He refused to buy any singles from the album and recorded over the Minidisc! Last Christmas I got him the album for a present and he spent time listening to it and it slowly grew on him and he reckons it is a very good album.
It sold well, I just think that some of the wrong tracks were released from it. In my opinion these are the 4 tracks that should have been released:
Canned Heat
Planet Home
Soul Education
Deeper Underground (was released before the album to tie in with the Godzilla movie)
King For A Day.
So do you agree/disagree with me

Singles on Synkronized
The reason I am not a fan of this album is simply because I struggle to find tracks I like.
On Emergency... and The return - i like just about every single track.
Synkronized should change its name to - The Jamiroquai Experimental Album.
Canned Heat, Soul Education and Where do we go from here are real solid Jamiroquai songs.
Planet Home has great lyrics - but it just is an odd sounding song.
Listen to the first 3 albums - then put on Planet home and you wonder what happened!
King For A Day - Not the worst song in the world but really when it comes to slower songs this come no where near the likes of Blow Your Mind, Morning Glory, Half The Man and Everyday.
Supersonic - on the same lines of Planet Home. When you come to this song after listening to the first 3 albums you just stop and think "whats going on here"
Unlike Planet Home, Supersonic's lyrics are poor.
Black Capricorn Day - sounds terribly like Stevie Wonder - Superstition.
Not a song I like at all. In fact I think i prefer Stop Don't Panic off A funk Odyssey.
Canned Heat - Although i'm bored of it as it was played so much, It was a great song and one of the best Jamiroquai have released.
Soul Education - A great Funky song. But sounds so much like Funktion on Travelling.
"if theres green ducks in your eyes" - i love those lyrics!
Where Do we go from here - My favorite track on the album. It just is Jamiroquai all the way. A funky song which automatically gets me moving. I love its rhythem and lyrics.
Deeper Underground - I love the start of the song. But after 2 minutes i'm fed up with it.
It was there only number 1 so i can defiantly tolerate this one.
Destitue Illusions - great for 1 minute but then i just skip on.
Falling - A nice tune. And the best ballad on the album.
Butterfly - again a little bit experimental. But not as bad as some.
Singles that should have been released -
Where do we go from here
Deeper Underground
Canned Heat
Soul Education
Jamiroquai i love because of the funk and lyrics- but Synkronized lacks funk and great lyrics. _________________ I'm so glad i've got you hooked up on my drug.
