Manifest Destiny: great song, the great new Emoticons!
Hello, :bm_v:
Gosh, I love that song, nobody tells stories better than Jamiroquai, especially history. This could count as one of the most underrated Jamiroquai songs, so much lyrical muscle and music, I love songs that you can paint pictures with your mind! Man these new emoticons rule... ....and the colored Buffalomen: CosmicMouse is creative genius! Thanks for listening and keep the great posts coming Queen_of_Funk! Peace!
Sincerely Your Co-Moderator,

.....
yes digin, i know 2Pac (RIP) sampled MD! & to ezzi, i know what you mean, i use to skip "manifest destiny" all the time, because it was such a change from listening to "light years" to the more laid back song, "manifest destiny"!!! but some how "manifest destiny" has grown on me & i'm kinda addicted to it (nowadays, when i put on ROSCB the 1st track i listen to is MD! ) esp. the lyrics, "....but I had to change my mind, sadness was the best thing I could bring.." *sniff* *sniff* it's so beautifully put together, the lyrics, the whole arrangement, instruments, everything. whenever i listen to this song, it just gets BETTER & BETTER, as if i'm listening to it (for the very first time!). purly amazing! & is truly a MASTERPIECE.
BRRAAAVVOOO BBRRAAVVOOO!!

Re: This song just rules
This is truly one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. I also used to skip it to get to 'Space Cowboy' but then I listened to it and it has such a deep meaning. It is really special and just lovely. The instrumentals just make the song. Just another reason why I love this group soooo much. |

I think it's about the slavery of the black people in america. J writes about "the shame of his ancestry", because he's ashamed that his ancestors (the british people and the portugese people) brought the black people to america to be slaves.
If someone knows a better and more exact explenation, do please tell me.
I'd also want to know the exact meaning of stillness in time, light years, mr moon and morning glory. I think all of them are realated someway to drugs, but each one of them is also about something else. _________________
