David Rowe posted a chat with Derrick Mckenzie
David wrote on funkin.com:
"I've just had a chat with Derrick McKenzie and he's asked me to put a couple of things on this site for the fans to read. Firstly it has to be a big thank you to those who wished him a happy (41st) birthday for Sunday - he's looking forward to meeting up with some of his friends from the tours over the coming months. He's also asked me to clear up a bit of confusion about his recent work with French artist Francis Lalanne. The album was recorded when there was some downtime with Jamiroquai and this did not impact on any delays with the release of Dynamite. In his own words - "I have been with this band for 11 years and would like to stay on forever as this is the roots and the inspiration for my music and I also get to meet great musicians such as Francis Lalanne and the people that work around him. But thanks to all the fans for enduring the delay in this album by Jamiroquai and I hope you enjoy it to the max!" "
Derrick's a great drummer and seems to be a funny guy...
I want Dynamite!!!!

Cor, he doesn't even look 41!!!
Hello,
Ah, cool, nice interview with Derrick, though didn't cover alot of what we were expecting . Thanks for Cut N Pasting that Melo D, didn't get around to Funkin Site today . Still I wondering about the whole Francis Lalanne thing, cool of him to help out on his album during the Dynamite downtime. At least he's still staying with Jamiroquai, first real verbal confirmation from a bandmember I have read of keeping a commitment to the band and it's sound ! Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,

yes, I was thinking the same! There have also been birthday greetings at J.Talk, but about the album with "Francis Lalanne"... I think Jamirotalk has been the only (english speaking) place where this has been discussed, or am I wrong? (maybe Jamline, too?)
Thanks for the update, Derrick and David!

Oh, my God! I'm one of them! Hey! If I ever have a site about Jamiroquai... will I be able to talk to at least Jay's gardeners? _________________

you're the only one who play like billy cobham nowadays! better than billy!! thanks man!!!
your style is the greatest!!!!
