if you want to know my opinion:
Hi everyone!! nice discussion... but perhaps the rest of jamiroquai aren´t interested to be part of the video!!! What do you think of that? perhaps j "sacrifies" himself, ´cose nobody wants to "waiste" ( this word is too hard for that what i want to say, but my english knowledge isn´t "good" enough) time hanging around for hours, somewhere in the "pampa".
or do you think, jay doesn´t "allow" the bandmembers to be part of the videos? Well, i don´t know... what´s your opinion?

well, i actually think, that it is neither one of both. i don't think, that j doesn't WANT the other bandmembers to appear in the videos, nor do i think, that they don't want it.
i believe, that it is for marketingreasons, that only j appears in the video. after all, he is the public head of jamiroquai. he is the one, everybody, who is not as familiar with the band as we are, thinks IS jamiroquai. how often do you read or hear, that somebody, who is talking about jamiroquai is talking about "HE is doing this, HE is doing that..." i am not saying, that i like it. i think, all the bandmembers should get the same attention. where would jamiroquai be without them? but anyway, back to the topic...
i could imagine, that sony, together with j thinkof producers for a video, who then develop a storyboard for the video. after introducing that to sony and j, they decide which one they like the best and which fits the song the best. and if all the pitched ideas do not include the bandmembers of the video, they will not appear in it...

some times ago I read an interview with JK (I think it was the last in the funkin.net archieve) where he called the LF Video bullshit (I can't remember the exactly word he used). He said that it was Sony who tells how the videos should look and that his opinion about the video doesn't count much. So maybe he has to change something in the contract between him and Sony!!??
I also read that they did the Corner Video in Kapstadt. I don't know if its true  I also hope that it will be better than the last two videos  and that the other members will appear!!  |

Anyway....
I just hope that the video of COTE will match the quality of the song (which is extremly high, for my taste). |

I agree...more bandmembers MUST be shown  ..and less chicks  . Why not make a video with the bandmembers wear bikinis and lie flat around the pool..now that would be interesting

What I did not expect....
 I could have never imagined that I would enjoy  the new video COTE of Jami so much ... although there are still no other band members to be seen in it.
I am afraid that we, Jami fans, have to admit that "JAMIROQUAI" is now more like "JK's band". The image that JK wants to give about JAMIROQUAI is currently all focused on his own self.
If you had the chance to watch the documentary broadcasted on Channel 4 about the concert of May 15th in Ealing, this trend is obvious. From the band, only JK is interviewed. The name of the other musicians is not even mentioned  .
Now I can imagine that some of us are not too happy with this.... |

I know that JK is the main figure in Jamiroquai but I honestly think he should make an effort to get the other band members on the videos. For people who aren't familiar with the band, it ends up being very confusing, since they sincerely don't know if he's a solo artist or a member of a band.
Back in the 80`s, Boy George (Culture Club's vocalist) was far more popular than JK nowadays but always insisted on the presence of the other 3 CC members on the videos. I find that the correct attitude. |

the band members should appear in jami videos, so it can prove to the public that Jamiroquai, does NOT mean JK! although, the front cover of AFO, kinda like reinforced that statement.

technicly, since Jay is the only one singned on the record deal, jamiroquai is jay. but I think the members still should apear in each and every video![/quote]
