Gumball 3000
This one is from funkin, credits to David:

On Saturday 14 May the seventh annual 'Gumball 3000' Rally kicks off from central London, where it will take in countries including Belgium, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Sicily and Italy. According to an email update from 'Gumball HQ', Jamiroquai are going to be involved with the event, but especially on Friday 13th May...

On Friday 13 May Jamiroquai will be performing at an exclusive private party to celebrate the event, which sets off from Waterloo Place (between Picadilly Circus and Pall Mall) in London on Saturday 14 May.

On on the same day between 19:00 and 21:00 in Bloomsbury Square, London, the stars and celebrities (and some of the finest motor cars around) will be arriving to watch The Gumball 3000 Film Premiere of '6 Days in May'.

On Saturday 14 May the schedule of event in London is as follows:

11:00 - 18:00 - Cars will be on display all day on Waterloo Place (between Picadilly Circus and Pall Mall) and on Trafalgar Square!
18:00 - Jenson Button will waive the start flag at 6PM!!!!!!!! (Waterloo Place)
If you're a serious car lover and want to hopefully catch a glimpse of Jay and the rest of Jamiroquai, then this event is the place to be.

More information about the event can be found at the Gumball 3000 website.

So fans in Belgium, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Sicily and Italy, keep your eyes opened!!!

Gumball news mentions Jay Kay official as one of the stars of the event, and among the listed cars is a Ferrari Enzo Wink

I wonder if Jay will be there just for the kick off, or if he will do the whole race????
Within the race days there are no official music appearances of Jay yet mentioned, so he might have planned to do the whole race. But the finishing line has to be passed on evening of 20th of May, so that is the day of his Top of the pops gig, which I think should be live, not recorded before???

I do hope so. Gumball 3000 informed me that they're going to stop on Hungary at the Hungaroring curcuit and gonna spend there six hours, let's hope Jay will be there and somehow we can get contact with him Wink .

Yes I hope for you, that you will get the opportunity to meet him, or at least watch him pass by in the Enzo Wink

By the way, some countries prepare to watch that race closely for giving out high penalties to the ones that will exceed the speed limits Laughing
So I think Jay might collect some more "tickets" LOL ,
but he will surely take care not to loose his liscence again... Wink

Sorry to crash ure party, but if JK hasn't registered a car (the enzo ain't his) he's not going...
he's probably only performing at the party anyway, since the event's basically illegal...maybe more of a jackass thing, than a pop band with new album out thing....and concerts are held in the beggining and inthe end only

i'm with Mers, Jay would take a major risk with his career if he does enter that event.

if it was sanctioned by the FIA, then that's when i'd look up and take notice.

As I remember funkin reported in the last 2 years about this event, and Jay took part both times (in 2003 in th U.S., in 2004 in Europe), and as I remember last year one of the competitors was caught with 300km/h, but the name wasn't announced, but we know who he was Wink . And I emailed to the organizers and they didn't tell me Jay doesn't take part...

On Friday evening in Bloomsbury Square, London, Jay attended the the Gumball 3000 Film Premiere of '6 Days in May'. After the film premiere, a private party was held where Jamiroquai performed. Apparently the Jamiroquai performance didn't go quite as planned, after a power outage was experienced part way through their set!

Hi !
Just visited the Gumball 3000 forum and found a pic of "Jay Kay´s crew".
At least the authors are claiming it was him. I´m not so sure about that, but anyway... Here is the link :

http://forums.gumball3000.com/viewtopic.php?t=122&highlight=jay+kay

I didn´t even know Jay was taking part in that race.

A lot of Gumball-racers got speeding-tickets in Belgium. The police over there knew the race was coming to Belgium, so they set up a control Wink One competitor was driving 210 km/h!
Would Jay have been one of them (if he's racing too?)?

sorry guys for bringing you bad news but jay kay is not on the
gumball 3000,i have just seen on one croatian portal that he didnt appear in croatia as a part of the destination where the "gumballers" pass;maybe its a good news coz he better rehearse more with the band,to avoid shitty concerts like the one in Sunderland..
well here is a translation of the article:

"almoust 100 celebrities, who are a part of the gumball 3000 passed thorough Croatia today and stopped in the national park "Krka"...............altough they were announced today didnt show up quentin tarantino, darryl hannah, and a singer star of the group "Jamiroquai"...."
