Jamirobeto, no one's saying that you can't express your thoughts. Of course you can. There's nothing wrong with not liking the album cover. I'm not fond of it either. But there's something very annoying about Jamiroquai fans in general (and I don't mean you especifically) which is the fact that they never seem satisfied. There's always a lot to moan about... The complaints are usually the same: Jamiroquai doesn't sound like it used to, the band hasn't released anything like EOPE ever again and the group is falling apart because several musicians don't play with Jay Kay anymore. It's just so repetitive. I end up rarely posting here or on a J mailing list, because I get really upset. There's always someone crying because Jay Kay hasn't done this or that. I think people forget that Jay Kay is a musician, not a public servant.

You're taking the thoughts out of my head! Many a time, I've considered leaving this board because I just can't take the criticism that some people churn out at every new Jamiroquai song/performance/appearance. I have never seen this on any other forum for any other band, and it's sometimes really upsetting.
It confuses me when instead of people expressing dislike at a new song/ cover by ways of constructive criticism and optimism, they fly off the hook and moan about how Jamiroquai aren't as good as they used to be.
For me personally, if I like a band as much as I do Jamiroquai then I will never fault the quality of their work. Sure, I may question it's relevance or compare it to previous or similar work, but Jamiroquai are my favourite band and nothing will change that. Instead of saying "This cover is utter crap", I'll say "This cover may not be the best they've had, but it's cool". Maybe it's becasue I'm not someone to blurt out my first impression immediatly, but I think it's probably becasue I'm just so in love with everything the band does!
If you think I'm complaining about people criticising the cover, you're wrong. Criticise away. But just remember that this is an International Fan Community, and you are a fan.
I just feel sorry for poor Rob Harris coming here and reading all these comments about the work he's poured his heart and soul into for the past year
(Sorry for the off-topicness, but I feel this issue had to be addressed) _________________

I agree with Moon Shoter and Cesar here perhaps I've some of this too (but not in this subject) I believe that you have strong ideas to support your criticism that should be fine... Jamiroquai is still one of my favorite bands and still have faith in them but I dont think everything they do is perfect as some people do think... but that's ok if you think that way... what bothered me was this commentary

| "Heck! I don't like the cover"... It sounds so idiot. |
I hope this doesn't happen again... I don't want any trouble but I just can't stay quiet when someone says these kind of things. Well, that's enough I guess... i hope everything's clear now... let's keep talking about the cover _________________ We're going to a funktion yeah yeah yeah |

Jamiroquai's Dynamite
Hello Jamirotalkers,
First I want to say that is my opinion, nothing else.
I'm studying graphic design, so I can tell you that the cover IS something important, otherwise there wouldn't be designers and the covers would be in blank.
You can talk about the cover, if you like it or not, and you can agree on that opinion or not, of course. But what you can't do -and we discussed this several times- is talk about the cover including the songs of the album that you haven't heard (I'm not talking one or three tracks, I'm talking about the whole album). That is, you can't judge the entire album by watching the cover, is just ridiculous (example: Ed, you have been complaining about Jamiroquai since the name of the single came up, come on, you're in a Jamiroquai forum).
Personally, is just a matter of getting used to the new set of covers designed, with Jay on them. I love the buffalo man, and you might say the cover of 'Dynamite' is minimalist, or without colours. But let's not forget that the cover of 'EOPE' was the most minimalist of all, and it was black and white. I like the fact that they're back to the original font used for both names (Jamiroquai and Dynamite) and is good that people start relating Jamiroquai to the figure of Jay, cause what happened during TWM in the US was that when he was on TV, they were 'who's that?' (the only reference they had was the buffalo man!), so I think is also a question of success (don't get me wrong, there are exceptions, just look at the ones of Coldplay). Watch the cover of the new album of Oasis (black and white too) and you will be pleased with 'Dynamite'
Like someone said, Jay has like a promising look. And I think that if you like the album, the songs, you will like the cover as well. I know I do.
By the way, I'm just crazy or the shadow (not the black one) in the floor looks like the head of the buffalo man in a way??:

i dont know if anyone has mentioned this already but...
Isn't this cover a picture taken from the set of the video for FJLIS should. There is a section in the video where jay drops into a scrubby chair, which looks like the one on the cover. _________________ I never know what to do 'til im there with you... |
