OK, so I'm completely frustrated by the fact that we in the U.S. are getting an "autumn" release. What do they expect the fans in the U.S. to do?

1) Pay a premium and buy it as an import
2) Download it illegally (since "legal" downloads tether to the physical release schedule)
3) Wait for it to come out in the U.S. even though you've heard all about it for months

I've already done 2), and I plan to do either 1) or 3), or both. The only reason I can even think to do 3) is because I want to do my part to make it as objectively popular as possible in the U.S. to increase the chances of a tour stop in the U.S. But how many fans think that way? Most who want the album early will do 1) or 2) and Sony & the band's management will not have an accurate gauge of true interest in the U.S. Basically the differential in release schedules is going to make the U.S. fanbase seem smaller than it actually is due to the people choosing to download or import ahead of the release date.

WARNING - SIDE RANT: It just goes to show once again that record companies are evil and obstruct, rather than faciliate, art getting into the hands of consumers (see: Fiona Apple). Honestly it's things like this that make me not feel bad about downloading music illegally. In the digital age, record companies serve no purpose. The economics of making music are such that music can go directly from artist to consumer quite effectively. The record company plays no real part in actually getting music out to people anymore. (As a contrast, the movie industry, while evil in its own way, at least provides a service to the consumer of funding large-budget films. "Lord of the Rings" could never get made without a big company behind it. So in that case, the corporation is actually helping getting art to the consumer.)

What are other U.S. fans doing?

I understand your frustration.I live in the States (California) and I really had no other choice but to order the import. It wasn't cheap, but I really had no other choice.I don't wanna wait until the fall, and I never download music illegally.

I bought the import from Amazon - it actually only came to about $18 after shipping & everything, not much more than the prices here & definitely worth it to get it early. I may buy it here too, but it depends on if there's any difference in the versions.

Well I illegally downloaded it from another member of this site, but I did order it from Amazon also. By looking at my member name on here, I bet it's pretty vague on where Im from lol. Anyway, track #12 is titled correctly: "Time Won't Wait". I haven't. I have downloaded it illegally, but I have my import hopefully in the mail; as we speak. But I couldn't wait for it to come out, so I've already enjoyed it many times over... illegally lol.

P.S.: Todd, funny crack on Jamirofan... Im sure he'll be thrilled at that lil poke hehe.
