Talulah played in my head all night, and this place in particular:
"gotta stop that plain come and see me baby
She's gone away flying up on that jet plane
told me she wont be back again
and talulah, talulah is her name"
played million times... fantastic, perfect song!!!!
i want to know how and where it was written. |

For me, the entire song stands out from the rest of the album...it's been in my head since the first time I heard it and I know I won't get tired of it!

Hello Talkers,
OK, I gotta say... when I first heard 'Dynamite' in that Sony reunion we had, I couldn't believe my ears... it was such a lovely disco track!! I still think it is, but when you hear this kind of things for the very first time is different.
On the other hand, 'Electric Mistress'gets better every time I hear it. It's my favorite in the album -not saying is the best... who knows! But is my favorite-. The bells, the guitar riffs at the end, Jay singing not so loud, like whispering in some parts (the 'Baby I can't pretend' for example), not like in 'Starchild', where he sings pretty loud (and, perhaps, one of the best songs they've done so far). Special parts in this song? The first times I heard it, when it comes the part 'but you just don't take us...! Somewhere in the world..', that part produced me goosebumps... seriously!
I'm starting to dig 'Love Blind'. Is different from what we've heard, and that is what makes it fun to listen to.
I'll write about the second half of the album.

I really like the beginning of (D)GHAC and the beginning of the choruses when Jay sings "We've been giving hate a chance..." and the middle part when that piano plays so high...and the end, when the music fades out, but the background singers sing on until the very end... And of course Hot Tequila Brown, oh how I love Hot Tequila Brown... Did you notice that in the choruses the part "Don't shoot me down" is sung by 2 jays, one singing the word "don't" a bit higher than the other one? And in the first chorus, the words "me down" are also sung by the background singers. And there are also at least 2 Jays singing the line "Sun shine shine down" and one is remaining on the same note all the time. At 2:46 you can also hear the "front Jay" start to sing with them.
Now to my very favourite on Dynamite (come here, Starchild!)...It's such a pleasure for me to hear this track! I love that what Diego said already, that part "I thought you came down from heaven..." and the violins in the first one! And then that part in the middle, when Jay sings "Got to see him now"... is that a trumpet?!? I also love that part from 3:20 until the end when they start to sing the chorus again (listen carefully! At 3:27 one of the background singers is making "mm-mm-mmmm" or something like that) and the end where Jay sings "Aaaaa..." while the music fades out already...and the keyboard...well, I could go on like this for ages, but I'm high enough already I know what you mean, High Times, it's really like flying!
Well, I just decided I'm NOT high enough. So I'll go on with Talulah. Did you notice that there are some pan effects (the sound goes from left to right to left and so on) in the song? There is one an the very beginning where just the sax an the flute are playing. I usually hate such slow and "love sick" songs (like Sarah Connor "Living To Love You" ) but with Talulah it's something different...And I really like the part in Black Devil Car after that "She's just a love machine..." where the song gets so quiet and then those drums and Jay screams and that "dirty" rock guitar a litte later and that funny vocal effect...just like a real rock song! The bad thing with this album is that if you start to sing along with it, then you miss Jay's great singing!
But now I will stop writing, I'm still not high enough, but I'm kind of tired now...maybe again later. |
