From the Sun:
| Quote: |
RIDING high on the success of his new album, Jamiroquai turned up the heat on an overcast Sunday evening at the Bacardi B-Live festival.
J Kay gave a mesmerising performance to the hordes on South London’s most popular green space, Clapham Common, rounding off the three-day event in style.
Warming up the final day were Amy Winehouse, The Brand New Heavies, Us3 and Flavor Flav.
The former Public Enemy MC proved he still had as much to give with a blistering, bouncy performance, lapped up by an appreciative young crowd.
Saturday night headliner, top DJ and master of the remix, Paul Oakenfold sent pulses racing
Paul turned out an electrifying set including an inspired remix of U2's Beautiful Day and a reworking of the classic Born Slippy by Underworld - a real high point of the festival.
Building up the atmosphere were the likes of Scratch Perverts, Audio Bullys and a real gem of a performance from Sneaky Sound System.
The premature 9pm finish meant a solid stream of clubbers making a B-Line to after party venue’s such as Ministry of Sound, who played host to a top notch line up of DJ’s including Cassius and Jon Carter.
The festival kicked off on a muggy Friday evening with a dash of Latin Splash - a salsa dancing night that left you feeling like you were in ‘one of those Bacardi adverts’.
The weekend may have been overcast, but the South London promoters organised a great music event that, to everyone’s credit, was not overshadowed by the colossal Live 8.
Quite simply, oustanding!

Hey Jamirotalkers!
WOW! You know, I have so much that I want to say about The B-Live Festival, but I just can't express my feelings in words. All I can say is that my first experience of seeing Jamiroquai perform live was simply unbelievable...I'm still waking up every morning thinking it was just a dream!
The whole atmosphere was fantastic and it was brilliant to meet so many of you at long last. I do hope we will get together again some time in the future (and meet more of the Jamirotalkers out there too)!
Thanks to Cosmic Mouse for the photos...they bring back very fond memories of a perfect day!
A hug goes out to Jeremy

P.S. I wish Yvie could've been there! _________________ wouldn't you like, wouldn't you like, wouldn't you like...to shoot the moon tonight?

Aaaawww thanks Claire that's really sweet of you! I'm so gutted I wasn't there & didn't to see Jami & meet all you guys & gals... I'm so glad you all had fun though: helps calm my simmering annoyance at missing out on the day!!
Really great review Meike...
(Additional & offtopic!! Another proud leftie owning up here...!!) |
