good question todd. ive always thought about this.

obviously jay gets paid a huge amount by sony, seeing that he is the only one contracted by sony.

jay (or most likely someone with brains) would then work out a certain fee that he pays to the musicians for their studio work, and then get paid per concert they do etc.

judging by how jay spends, i reckon something like $15 million per year, plus royalties and commision from sales etc.

Let's put it this way....I remember reading an article on Derrick and his life outside the band. He basically said that he sure as hell wasn't going hungry while he was with Jamiroquai. He also said something to the effect of 'I have a big house and a flash car like Jay....it's just that his house is bigger and his car is flashier!" Laughing

i read somewhere that stuart drove a luxurious mercedes...i can get the idea how much he(stuart) got when he still with the band..and toby owns a home-studio that almost similar to jay's only a simpler version, nice big house and used to owned a lamborghini..derrick own a "big house and a flashy car just like jay"..sola is an accomplished percussionist who conducted workshop and music lesson..nick left jamiroquai after 4 years of jamming with the group to do his own music project and simon katz and DJ D-Zire is in high-profile music project called Space Monkeyz...

the conclusion to all this is..they're all are super freaking rich...jay paid them a huge loads of cashes...can't imagine how much jay earns per year..but the enzo somehow gave some insight of his profit..it's not easy owning and maintaining rides like ferrari enzo..just imagine how much jay have to paid for tax on his enzo alone.....

The ones who make the most are those that share the writing credits. More money is made from the publishing rights than the performing or studio salaries. That's why all the band members want their names on the credits as writers and not just as instrumentalists.

"Singer, songwriter, dancer - has brains - will travel"

And just imagine how much it costs "Sir" JK to insure himself and the cars.

Especially since his last caper and driving ban. He probably has one of the highest premiums to pay in the UK !!!

The insurance premiums in their own right could do a lot to relieving third world debt !!!

I do admire his choice of 'hobby' though, and if I had his money, I would probably spend it the same way.

:-)))))) h

Yes, rightly said Jamirokaki !!!

He must make just as much again from his sponsors.

I wonder which colognes he wears ??? After seeing him that early 70s style jacket in the Evening Standard cover picture and the shoes that he is wearing when he is squatting down cuddling his Caddy, I can see that 'Quai is going to be a retro line.

Going witht he retro line, he could be wearing Habit Rouge and Vetivyer (Guerlain) Eau Sauvage (Dior), but I would rather think of him as a Lacoste or Loewve or Lancome (it's all those little Ls !!!).

Smells So Good . . . :-))))) h
