It's true that it's the same bassist on 'Starchild', '(Don't) Give Hate A Chance' and 'Time Won't Wait' (Alex Meadows plays on 'Dynamite'), his name is Derrick McIntyre. He has also been playing in Roy Ayers' band

yes, you are absolutely right mate!!!
it is musicman stingray!!!
the thing is i posted this topic on 6th june i had the album in mp3
and listened to it on small computer speakers so i couldnt hear the
character of the sound in proper way,
but when i played it on my big speakers i understood
that it can be only a Music Man!!!! |
i forgot to say about "dynamite" -
actually i think "dynamite" was played on jazz bass
and "Dont give hate a chance" & "Starchild" were played on Musicman. |

Oh, I hadn't seen that. My fault ...
BTW, when we was told that Dynamite would have different bass players I must admit that I was hoping for a track with Stuart. Could have been great

whoever played bass on this album, im eternally grateful for, because some of the basslines take me back to cosmic girl and manifest destiny etc, basslines a jamiroquai fan just wont ever forget. im really happy to hear that the bass element in the band is as funky as ever if not funkier. gotta love bass.

Ugh. Now I'm just going to have to get myself a musicman stingray. I want that tone! I just can't get it out of my head. |

I'm not a bass player. But I'm amazed no-one's mentioned 'Tallulah' as well. It's Mr. McIntyre again, I think, and more chilled though that song is, the bass is SUBLIME...
