6th Jam Album tidbits and more!!!
(After the tiresome cleaning of ice off the car windows due to a big East Coast Snowstorm, JamiroFan2000 ventures into JamiroTalk.net with a even bigger hatred of snow & winter) :5snowman:
Hello everyone, :bm_r:
Sorry for not posting as usual on JamiroTalk.net, but unable to move even 5 feet out of apartment due to snowstorm, got a nasty 6 to 6 1/2 inches of a snow-sleet-freezing rain mix! Anyway, I read at Frenchiroquai.com (http://www.frenchiroquai.com) some great tidbits about the upcoming 6th Jamiroquai album. Here's the details:
*6th Album tidbits: thanks for David for sharing!!!*
-In exactly 2 weeks, the band will meet up at JK's newly aquired Scotland homestead to start work on the writing and composing the 6th album.
-In addition, the recording of the album will begin during Summer 2003.
-In guessing, the album could have a release date of the earliest of Fall/Winter 2004 OR Spring 2004 at the latest.
-The initial plan for the 6th album to JK's wishes is to return to the Old Sound of the first two albums.
-At the concert in Osaka, Japan, JK let it be known that the new track "Cannabliss" will be added to the 6th album.
There you go, I hope that news gives some ideas of what the 6th album will be like. I would like to thank David at Frenchiroquai.com for posting this news and for being such a great fly on the Jami-wallpaper! Thanks for listening and the usual props to CosmicMouse & Bear! Peace and take care!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000
Let the journey to the old sound begin!!!!!

JAMIROFAN'S THOUGHT OF THE POST
-----------------------------------------------------------
I would guess that "Cannabliss" would make a good
pick as the first single from the 6th album, since it
got the best acceptance as a new song, but I
wouldn't be surprised if it's a different one.

WOOOOOOOOOOO
I am so happy. I do hope we see a return of the big brass and such, but i also would like a little of the new stuff too. I think this 6th album will be a big collage of the previous 5 albums. Then again we may get a whole new direction...or maybe Nick will quit 90% thru the album and they'll have to scrap it all and...and... ....oh I'm getting myslef all worked up and paranoid now. Great news though |

Thanks for the news Jamirofan!
Yep, its nice to know a bit more about the sixth album. For many, it'll be good to return to the old sound, and I agree, but as jamirostin said, I would also like to see some newer stuff in. I mean some of the more casual fans only know the new sound, and if those fans are to be kept, well... some new stuff has to be included.
And jamirostin-dont worry, everything well be OK.
Take care

Oh that's such a good news!!! I can't wait until next winter/spring and I just can agree with you guys - a mixture of old and new would fulfill all wishes!! I really would like to be a fly on the schottisch country house wall!!!
Jamirofan: keep on fighting against this snow - I can understand your hatred - we also have some snow left (but not as much as you) and I can't stand it anymore - I want spring!!! |

Jamirofan, I'm sorry you hate the snow so much.....it makes me wonder; do you drive a snowplow? I love the weather, probably because it got me out of school for four days!
Anyway, I'm so excited about the new album! I'm glad to see the work is beginning. I like the old sound, so I think it's great that they're going to go for that again. Cannabliss will be a great single (unless of course it's banned from videoplay in the US like Space Cowboy), even though it's probably unlike most of the rest of the album......that's OK, I guess ~ Virtual Insanity wasn't much like the rest of TWOM.
Well, it's great news, and I can't wait to hear more! |

And there's another thing I was just thinking of: who is the one to write the songs in the old style. Can someone of you imagine who will be the new songwriter?? I'm not into that subject so much - so I really don't know |

I think Butterfly means songwriters in the band. It used to be Toby and Jay, but without Toby, who will write the songs with Jay? Toby was around since the beginning, so that Acid Jazz feel was always there. Otherwise, it might be harder to find.
But wait! On the official site (not that I take that as the final word, but it's a good source) it said Toby may come back for future recording projects! He had to stop touring, but I'm sure he can find time to write some music with the boys! (I hope so anyway.....I crave the keyboards we heard in ROTSC and DYKWYCF).
Cheers! |

yeah hey,
i know butterfly meant that, yeah it was toby that wrote with jay, but im really sure if he will come back to write with jay!! have u noticed there has been a bit of tension with the band and toby???? i think so, cos at the sydney show last yr (12nov), a member from the crowd yelled out where's toby and jay said he's gone to be a house husband, and then later when me and my friends spoke to rob after the opera house show (15nov) he didn't really want to talk about toby!! (but everything else seemed ok) but i hope they can hit that sound from earlier previous albums!! _________________ heehee haha =P~~~ |

Yes, sure I meant "who of the band will write with Jay?" Cause there is no member left from the first two albums exept Jay (and Derrick??). So I don't know if it will be like the old sound. It's hard for me to explain it in proper english But anyway maybe with Rob or Nick there will be some fresh air in the "new old sound" we should let ourselves be surprised. |

You are right. But who knows. Space cowboy was written 100% by Jay and it´s the best song of the 5 albums (or one of the 4 best songs). Anyway, I think it´s gonna be the best album of all. I have a feeling... |
